Biggest baddest WHAT in the land?

Ok, what does everyone think. What should the single most powerful ANYTHING be in a normal DnD 3E world?

Dragon?
Archmage?
Ultra-lich?

Of course we are not counting avatars or Demi-Gods forced to walk the world.

Simply what should be biggest baddest be?

It's still is the Dragon. It's always been the dragon in my world. Even in first edition when they hada max of 88 or so hit points. :)

Assuming you want to add any of that bad man in cheap suit monster crap into your gaming. ;)

Kaiju template though is limited to creatures large size or smaller I believe.

Also the three examples they gave in Dragon Magazine do not look like they would last long against the latest great wyrm Red Dragon profiled on WOTC site. Who in turn would not be much of fight for Klaus the great red wyrm listed in the FRCS.

Anything can be made nastier by adding the prefix "kaiju" :)

You did say biggest, so...

What about a hibernating dragon so large that it's back spines form a mountain range?

Or a zaratan large enough to be mistaken for a continent?

Or perhaps a variation of Jormundgor (sp?) the World Serpent?

Maybe an adventuring party of epic level titans, who collectively could take down near anything...

A good example would be the CR47 20th level Druid Half Fire Elemental Great Wyrm Red Dragon from the Forgotten Realms that works with a group of CR30+ guys.
He's may not be the strongest, but I'd bet he'd be really close.
He's more then strong enough to deal with someone like H'Elminster anyway.
