For those of you who have Comcast On Demand, the full pilot episodes of Bionic Woman and Journeyman (plus a couple of others) are available now, almost two weeks before their premieres. HD even.

Tivo Unbox has them as well, along with a couple othe NBC premiers that I didn't bother to download. Bionic Woman was ok, I gave it a season pass to try it out, but I'm not feeling it. Journeyman was much better than I expected.

Same here.

BW tried too hard to cram in as much character background relationship info as it could in the first 10 minutes; almost every line was spoken to inform the viewers of a particular fact, and there was very little "real" interaction between the characters. The acting was a bit stiff, mostly I think because of the expository dialog. Miguel Ferrer was the only actor who really seemed to have brought his A game, tho. I think the pilot could have used about another 1/2 hour, to give the show a little more room to breath around the establishing of all the sci-fi/conspiracy elements. Still, interesting premise, and hopefully now that they've set some things up, they can slow things down a bit and give the actors a little more opportunity to behave like real people.

One nit-pick: why does a person with two bionic eyes need a scope on their sniper rifle? (Especially when it's established a few seconds later that the bionic eye is telescopic?)

Journeyman, even though the time-jumping started almost immediately, had much more fleshed out characters, and really only introduced hints of a more complicated plot well into the second act. I would compare the first episode favorably to "Quantum Leap", but I suspect Journeyman will develop a deeper mythology and character development. I fear, however, that it may not have quite enough "wow" to build an audience, however.

Pretty simple, you can't sight the weapon at the target. You need to be able to look down the weapon sights and then see the target beyond. Basically its like trying to use a pair of binoculars while aiming your sniper rifle- not gonna work.

The wife and I watched BW and both had the same reaction- it was ok, doubtful it will make it without venturing a little more into what the guys who made her want her to do. Basically it has a Jake 2.0 feel with a lot of brutal/grit to the fights. I doubt the world around Jaime will every be positive and filled with hope, more then likely it will be pain and fear, but Jaime will hopefully keep her glowing spirit and such through it (ya, whatever ;) ).

We'll watch the first few shows I am sure (if we can).

Hmmm, I missed out on Journeyman, hadn't heard anything about it. Seems weird, because supposedly there was a remake/new version of Time Tunnel in the works for this year. (Time Tunnel I think being the original time travel show)

Unfortunately, Time-Warner only had them on demand in standard def, so I think I'll be re-watching the pilots for Bionic Woman and Chuck once they're broadcast in HD.

Also watched "Chuck". Fun, with a couple laugh out loud moments. I'll be watching this one again. Adam Baldwin was a pleasure as a bad-ass NSA agent ("Don't puke on the C4"). My wife thought that Chuck and his new CIA agent girlfriend look like Greg and Marcia Brady.

Thanks for posting this - I don't often check the OnDemand offerings. I am curious about all three of these shows, now I can check them out on my schedule.

I totally agree. The acting was pretty good, and though it didn't really kick into gear (for me) until the second act, I was completely pulled in by the end. Also, they got points from me for using an Oasis song that wasn't Wonderwall (awful song). I think that they'll need to keep it a little mythology light to keep people interested as well as for a contrast to the mythology-heavy Heroes. I think it would actually do better if it weren't on after Heroes - I don't think the two are a good match at all.
