Does the extra damage from Black Lore of Moil apply each round to necromancy spells that deal damage for more than one round? Example: Circlet of Enervation, Wall of Pain, etc.

Hi!

IMHO, it shouldn't!

The amount of additional damage is based on a runebone. The rules (as written) don't allow for continuous damage, because there's no specification to do more damage than the runebone crafted beforehand allows.

In addition, the third paragraph of the Benefit entry constitutes: "While the maximum negative energy damage dealt...". That furthermore might indicate that there's a damage cap that even a continuous spell duration can't override.

Kind regards

As I understood the feat, it is a one-time damage increase to whatever spell you add the metamagic. So, no continuous damage. What our party Necromancer enjoys doing is adding the Moil effect to draining spells (like Enervation) so that the opponents get damaged as they get weakened. Ouch.

Now, if he could just get by creatures' Spell Resistance occasionally..! ;)
