I thought the first one was pretty bad myself. And it might have been "hard hitting" in the early 60s or something, but I thought it was pretty old hat myself, like a bad Hammer film.

Well, I should have been more clear, it's certainly not Die Hard, but it does deal with themes that are very dark and not even approached in other D&D modules of today, I think that's more where I was going.

I just got Beyond the Towers, I need to read it first. It's more dungeon-crawly than the first one. Looks like it would work into Eberron pretty easy. "Professor hires the party to escort him into evil swamp to explore ancient ziggurat."

Bleeding Edge #3: Dirge of the Damned is almost done printing and should be shipping soon. Bleeding Edge #4: A Dreadful Dawn has also gone to print and its PDF will be onsale at the Green Ronin online store soon. The next one up is Bleeding Edge #5: Temple of the Death Goddess.

I've run Mansion of Shadows for two different groups--both loved it. I have to say that the adventure didn't jump off the page as I was reading it--but in play it was excellent.

SPOILERS

The adventure requires a lot of scenery-chewing RP from the DM--so I wouldn't run it if you're having a low-energy day!

And I agree that the BE adventures seem perfect for Eberron. Most recently, I placed the Mansion of Shadows in the Eldeen Reaches with members of House Vadalis taking on the main family role.

#5 eh?

Glad to hear that it's panning out at least well enough to continue this far with all the doom and gloom we hear. :)

Funny, I always had the impression from Beyond the Towers that it is a good example for a "classic" D&D adventure on d20, down to the illustrations and the new monster section at the back of the book. Could have fooled me...

I'm running Mansion of Shadows tomorrow. Our group gets into the role playing aspects, so I think they'll like that, as well as the darker tone. I'll report back on how it goes.

I didn't see the stat blocks and maps on the GR website, as mentioned in the text of the adventure. I found the conversions for True20 and Black Company, but that's it. Did I overlook it?

ok...these look interesting.
I have looked on the website, and looked through GR's forums but can find no answer to this question: Are the different modules linked by an overall plot or are they each stand-alone adventures?
