Jrag makes a quick assessment of the situation before he brings his crossbow to bare on the goblin poler and lets lose a bolt. He then begins to pull out another bolt, in preparation of his next shot

The Arena
With a terrible screech of steel on steel, Karnak's charge ends with his chain tangled about his knees, jerking out of his hands to smack into the dirt, a few spikes embedding themselves. Teak, grip white-knuckled about his warhammer, shows a tusky grin and inclines his head upward, sunning it, mouthing thanks.

All too quickly the orc is digging his heels into the arena floor, sending up a gout of dirt in his monstrous swing at Karnak, shield arm dangling forgotten in righteous zeal, mouth in a sudden froth as Teak almost spits the words: "Reveal him!" The warhammer avalanches into Karnak's exposed arm -- a quick, blinding flash, the sizzle and scent of burning flesh, and as Skullpoker reels the Bright Eye sigil from Teak's warhammer is burned into his flesh. The crowd gasps, then shouts redoubled and giddy.

Meanwhile, Jrag's crossbow string twangs almost silently in the din. His target hardly even notices the bolt sprout from his longspear clasping hand, splashing blood across his face. "Blinded gods!" Vrek screeches, using the spear to hop toward Teak, ending the jump with a flick of the spear toward Karnak, catching the orc just below the ribs in a squirt of gore.

Stony voices murmuring near words accompany Razzit's incantation. Onlookers seethe and shout at the spectacle below. A fair trial or not, the Warboss provides a good show.

Karnak critically fumbles, disarming himself!
Teak Dawnrider takes a five-foot step to B10 and hits Karnak for 6 damage.
Jrag critically hits Vrek the Poler for 8 damage!
Vrek the Poler takes a five-foot step to B9, attacking Karnak for 5 damage.
Razzit casts Barkskin, +2 to Razzit's AC and Gorefang's AC, 30 minutes remaining.
Spratnik is up!

Initative -- Spratnik (12), Karnak (11), Teak Dawnrider (11), Jrag (9), Vrek the Poler (4), Razzit (2).

Spratnik smiles silently to himself as he watches his arrows plant themselves into Vrek's Chest. He reaches over his shoulder, and fires another two in rapid succesion praying for the same effect.

Spratnik again uses his rapid shot ability to fire two more arrows at Vrek (+5/+5), also, his precise shot negates the -4 for firing into the melee

His fists clenched tightly by his sides, adding emphasis to the thick ropes of muscle & vein as Karnak releases a cacophanous roar, his face seeming to darken and swell as his eyes burn with a bright intensity as they bore into Teaks, he launches himself at the indominable Orc...

Karnak will go into rage (7 rounds, +6 hit/dam, +6 HP, AC 16) then attempt to punch Teak twice with his spiked gauntlets - hopefully a little more successfully than the last attack!

Razzit makes a clicking noise and Gorefang calmly trots forward, coming to a stop a short distance behind Karnak. From his robes Razzit draws a tuft of fur, grasping the tuft in both hands he twists it and speaks in his earthen tongue before blowing the fur upon Karnak.

Gorefang will take a move action to D11, then Razzit will cast Bull's Strength on Karnak.

Jrag reloads his crossbow as he surveys the battlefield. Something isn't right about this. Why are there only two of them and four of us? There has to be something else at work here. When he finishes loading his crossbow, he takes aim at the goblin again, attempting to try and shoot at him out of melee. If he can't get a clean shot, then he'll hold till he can.

Move action to load crossbow

The wind picks up, adding to the low roar of onlookers, bringing the taste and scent of rain over the battleground. Caught in a gust, Spratnik's arrows turn -- one clatters at Karnak's feet, the other punches through Teak's scale, though the orc hardly notices, embroiled in his righteous fury, acknowledging the wound with a grunt.

Instead, Teak focuses his pale eyes on his more worthy opponent. As Karnak froths into a rage, stray drool spattering Dawnrider's armor, he claws at Teak with gauntleted hands. One Teak catches on his shield, the cruel barbs sticking in wood before being wrenched out, while the other simply scratches shrilly against Teak's scale armor, the ear-piercing noise amplified by the surrounding stone. Many in the crowd clamp hands to their ears.

Ponderously keeping Karnak at bay with his warhammer, Teak tosses his shield to the ground, grabbing Vrek by the throat. "You are no use to me dead," Dawnrider growls, before a stray ray of sunlight races up Dawnrider's arm and sears shut some of the goblin's wounds, stemming some of the blood flow over his leathers. Vrek howls in pain and simply glares at Teak as the orc roughly returns Vrek to his feet.

Jrag, observing all this down a crossbow sight, cannot secure a clean shot at Vrek. Even as the goblin, perhaps wising up, pushes off his pole to leap behind an outcropping, hidden from Spratnik's cruel arrows.

The crowd gasps as Razzit finishes his quick and subtle thaumaturgy. As the witch doctor blows through the fur, upon Karnak, very years of the orc's life blow away as well, the cruel orc's hair visibly graying at the temples, the lines of his face deepening, his teeth yellowing. Startled at the change, Teak ducks to avoid Razzit's exhale.

Spratnik misses Vrek the Poler, his rapid shots hitting AC 8 and AC 12. AC 12 is near enough Vrek the Poler's AC to randomly reroll for a target, target is Teak Dawnrider, Spratnik's arrow does 5 damage!
Karnak misses Teak Dawnrider, hitting AC 11 and AC 13.
Teak Dawnrider drops his shield, then uses Lay on Hands on Vrek the Poler.
Jrag reloads his crossbow.
Vrek the Poler takes a Withdraw action to C4.
Razzit casts Bull's Strength on Karnak, and a greater surge occurs, aging Karnak by five years! Karnak receives +4 to Strength, 3 minutes remaining. Barkskin, +2 to Razzit and Gorefang's AC, 30 minutes remaining. (-SIN- if you could post in the OOC thread about how old you think Karnak is please do. We might need to make adjustments for being middle aged.)

Initative -- Spratnik (12), Karnak (11), Teak Dawnrider (11), Jrag (9), Vrek the Poler (4), Razzit (2).

Spratnik growls as his arrows miss their mark. Upon seeing Vrek withdraw though, he decides he is no longer a threat. He rushes forward a few steps, and fires an arrow at the now shield-less Teak.

Spratnik moves to D 12 and fires at Teak at +10 (+3 damage also) (+2 favored enemy orc, +1 point blank shot)

Razzit frowned. While someone with a bloodlust like Karnak's was never long-lived, it was never his intention to take time away from the orc. Razzit commited the incident to memory as something that he would have to make amends for in future, whether or not Karnak himself took much notice of the change.

After bestowing mixed blessings upon Karnak the goblin shaman steered Gorefang around the melee between the two orcs and lined himself up with Vrek. He tipped some powder from a small pouch into his hand, then spat in it and mixed it on his palm with his thumb. Reaching forward over the saddle his earthen words of power tumbled forth again as he painted a line from Gorefang's nose up his snout to between his eyes.

Move action to C8 (assuming that remains an unthreatened space by the time Razzit's turn rolls around), then casting magic fang on Gorefang.

Karnak lets out a beastial roar in frustration and redoubles his efforts against teak.

same as the last round. 2 x attacks with spiked gauntlets
