Blood Sun, Chapter One: The Shadow Over Junga

Jrag counties to watch as the battle in front of him unfolds, looking for a hit to present it's self. If none occur he growls in frustration as he begins to weave his hands back in forth.

Hoping to get a clean line of fire and shoot, but if not then cast magic missile at Trek

The Arena
Spratnik jogs up next to Razzit, his bow thwp-ing near Gorefang's ear, spooking a growl from the beast. Teak raises his left arm, instinctive, and takes the arrow clean through the forearm. The holy orc howls, and his cry seems to cause the rain to drip to the ground along with the blood from this new wound. His agony lets one of Karnak's gauntlets slip by, raking his throat in another spray of gore, though the second is caught on the haft of Teak's warhammer.

Dawnrider spits, bloody, full on Karnak's gnashing face. "There is a demon in you!" He stoops, grabbing up his shield, keeping it between himself and the fury, stepping back. Black, eldritch bolts careen into his shield, blistering the arm behind it. "In all of you!" He spits in pain.

Like mottled yellow lightning, Vrek vaults around the stony outcropping, his eyes burning at Jrag. Vrek leaps a few paces out from the enchanter, landing in a splash of dust to flick his spear up, punching through Jrag's throat, quickly in and quickly out. "Leave me by," Vrek rasps across the field of battle, "or I will end him." Blood gurgles down Jrag's front.

No longer spooked from the arrow release, Gorefang lopes past Karnak, Razzit bouncing on his back. As the goblin incants the spell a screaming overcomes the quiet patter of rain slowly turning the arena floor to mud. The crowd yells in fear as the very ground quakes much as it did before, Razzit's red line thickening, overcoming Gorefang's head entire.

"Behold," Teak points, slumped against the arena wall, weakly clinging to his shield and hammer, "he is the cause, the Bright Eye is even blotted out by the rains he brings!" Ignoring, of course, that the rain began at Teak's own howl of pain.

Spratnik hits AC 24, dealing 7 damage to Teak.
Karnak hits AC 19, misses AC 11, dealing 8 damage to Teak. Buffs: +4 to STR and CON, +6 HP, +2 to Will saves, -2 to AC due to Rage, 6 rounds remaining. Additional +4 to STR due to Bull's Strength, 2 minutes 54 seconds remaining.
Teak readies his shield, takes a five-foot step to A10, and employs Total Defense. Buffs: +4 to AC until next action.
Jrag casts Magic Missile, dealing 6 damage to Teak.
Vrek moves to F8, critically hits AC 26, dealing 9 damage to Jrag.
Razzit casts Magic Fang which surges to be cast at +3 caster level. Buffs: +2 to Razzit and Gorefang's AC due to Barkskin, 29 minutes 42 seconds remaining, +1 to Bite attack and damage for Gorefang, 6 minutes remaining.

Spratnik swears in goblin as he watches Jrag's throat shoot blood down his front. He turns back at his orcish target, takes a step forward, and unleashes two arrows.

Spratnik takes a 5 foot step towards Teak and attacks him at +8/+8 (+3 damage) (+2 favored enemie, +1 Point black shot)

Razzit raises his shield and clutches Gorefang's reins tightly in his other hand. Jrag's injury could be lessened with a little effort.

He looks down on Vrek from atop his mighty steed. No words are spoken but there is a sense of finality in the shaman's gaze. He makes a sound like the splitting of a boulder, and Gorefang launches forward with the momentum of a rockslide.

Razzit is taking a total defense action, Gorefang is charging.

Jrag drops the crossbow as he stares at the enemy with hatred in his eyes. Knowing though that anything at this point is fool-hardy does nothing this round other than go full defensive.

Goess full defeinsvie and bleeds from the throat. Jeez, did it reall have to be my throat lol

Karnak smiles at Teak, froth still bubbling from his broken grin. "Demon?..." he asks slightly confused, unhitching his heavy pick from his back. Looking down at the weapon in his hands, his gaze returns to teak, this time with a look of understanding in their depths, "Yes..." he confirms, raising the pick high above them...

Karnak will draw his heavy pick, then attack Teak. Buffs: +4 to STR and CON, +6 HP, +2 to Will saves, -2 to AC due to Rage, Additional +4 to STR due to Bull's Strength

The Arena
Rain falls hard, now, mudding the ground, turning the flooded part of the arena into a swirling swill. As Jrag stands guarding himself, eyes on Vrek's lethal point, he notices a peculiar boiling in the water to his left. Nearly quicker than his reactions a looming mass of muscle and hate bursts from the water, a loping orc with gleaming black teeth, clad in only a filthy loincloth and shaggy black hair, snapping his jaws shut a hair's breadth from Jrag's cheek. The beast screeches, his eyes dim like those of a beaten dog.

Above, Junga's Warband can be heard laughing. "Blacktooth!" they leer.

Spratnik, eyes for Teak, takes a step forward while drawing an arrow across his bow only to be startled by Blacktooth's roar, botching the draw and sending his bow to splat in the mud with a curse. Rain batters the weapon relentlessly. Meanwhile, Karnak steps ominously toward Teak, bringing his pick in a massive arc over his head, rain sluicing, only to find it buried in the center of Teak's shield. The righteous orc gives a grunt and grimace as he works to keep the sharp end away, shoving Karnak as he works his way to his right and free, retreating with shield and hammer raised in front of him, keeping his back to the arena wall.

Throughout, Vrek's gaze has been kept on Blacktooth's snarling and slobbering maw. His brow has been crinkled, deliberating, his jaw working some secret question and now the goblin spits with rage, flicking his spear past Jrag to be turned away on Blacktooth's thick, unnatural hide. Casting his gaze to see Gorefang bearing down on him, the goblin shouts, holding up a hand. "Wait," he struggles to keep the beastly orc at the end of his spear, "this dishonestly will not stand!"

The rain soaks everything, everyone, dulling the crowds mingled gasps and shouts. From above the collective mirth of the Warband bounces around the arena, mixing with Blacktooth's snarls and battle sounds to congeal into something truly terrible.

Blacktooth moves to H7 and attacks Jrag, missing AC 11.
Spratnik takes a five-foot step to C12 and fumbles his first shot, dropping his bow!
Karnak takes a five-foot step to B10 and attacks Teak, missing AC 17. Buffs: +4 to STR and CON, +6 HP, +2 to Will saves, -2 to AC due to Rage, 5 rounds remaining. Additional +4 to STR due to Bull's Strength, 2 minutes 48 seconds remaining.
Teak Withdraws to E6.
Jrag employs Total Defense. Buffs: +4 to AC until next action.
Vrek attacks Blacktooth, missing AC 8.

Razzit makes a noise, muffled by the rain, and pulls hard on Gorefang's reins. The big dog slides through the wet, finally stopping with his large dark muzzle inches away from Vrek's face. Gorefang's breath stinks of death, and his eyes contain a barely supressed rage.

Razzit, still with shield raised, "I thought Blacktooth was one of yours!"

Vrek jabs and feints at Blacktooth as the orc snarls and drools in thick, ropy cords. "Mine?" the goblin's voice is raspy, faint, low, "none of this is mine, I was meant as an insult, but even this shames the Warboss." He growls with exertion. "Kill it!"

Initative -- Blacktooth (13), Spratnik (12), Karnak (11), Teak Dawnrider (11), Jrag (9), Vrek the Poler (4), Razzit (2).

Spratnik kneels down to retrieve his bow and wipes the mud off it. His eyes lock onto his new opponent, and he draws his bow.

Spratnik retreives his bow off the ground and takes a 5-foot step to D 12, and fires an arrow at Blacktooth (+10)
