Bluffside in my hands

Hand of Evil

Hero
Epic
Recieved Bluffside today and while I have not gone though it with a fine tooth comb I am very happy with what I have read so far.

Each 'city' is given a chapter with a map 1/4 of a page (or larger) in size with POI (point of interest). POI have desciription of establishment, ower, and hooks. Lots of NPCs and lots of gaming information. You also have chapters on the outside of Bluffside, some new spells, monsters, races and prestige classes. Oh, and an index.

The map in the back of the book is rather plain, no detail (that is in the book) but looks good. Each 'city' is of a size that is easy scaned or copied to allow players to write details on as a DM see fit.

I have been waiting for Bluffside and it looks to be a wonderful product, that will keep my players quite busy for some time.

I am soooooooo jelous, being over here in the cold UK I'm going to have ot wait a little longer for mine... grrrrr... :)

Come on tell me what else you think about it fella

So far the NPC are well balanced and the races seem to be too, really like the Nevae (drow/elf sub race).

Tons of hooks, easily get a game started or side tracked with one.

Layout of the book is nice, easy to read with quick information at your finger tips. Locations just says who the ower is, their race, levels, and hit points, details of the NPC is in the back of the book.

Any chance Hand you could do a short outline of the churches in the religious section? Or the wizard guilds?

The gods are pretty generic and can be used independently or changed to most games. You have 12 gods but as of yet I have not been able to find an alignment for them but it is easy to assign one based on their descriptions.

Wizards have their own city/district, 15 points of interest, history and how it is today. Guildhouses are by type of magic, such as the House of Abjuration. Again, each point of interest has two hooks attached to it.

The religions have been made to be easily removed should you wish to instill your own beleifs in the city..
As for alignment, the gods presented here have none, the gods arn't based on Alignment more their sphere of influence if you will..
But this was Curtis' baby so I'll let him explain more if he so wishes.. :)

Sample of god...

Name: Great provider, Sun, Spring, God of Renewal, Bringer of Life
Domain: Fire, Sun, Destruction, Healing, Emotion
Weapon: Any Forged
Symbol: A disc with flames, Red, Yellow or orange disk, or a sun
Portfolio: Any, also popular among desert races

Yes we left alignment out on purpose, so you could tweak them as you wish....and as for the map in back, we left info off so players could use it and "point in areas of Bluffiside" not say lets go to #12 next:D . Like in a real city walk the streets and explore. I am glad you like Bluff so far Hand and thanks for all the details and comments!!!! We are listening!

We think it turned out real well also...just got my pre-edited "final" of our desert Interludes: Sands of Pain and all I can say is WOW!

So we came to the city and hope we did well, next the desert!!!

Looking forward to hearing what more people think, and I appreciate your quick reply Hand, it got to you fast!!! Thanks USPS:p
