Blunt arrows against undead?

RW blunted arrows are usually used for target practice, and on occasion, to hunt small game- though in that case, you're trying to stun, not kill.

IMHO, a blunted arrow in an RPG would be limited to non-lethal damage, or perhaps doing minimal lethal damage- say, 1HP- if fired within 30 feet or so.

A tricked-out archer can use a sling pretty darn well. Your entire DEX bonus and almost all of your feats would work just fine with a sling. If you can buy 50 undead-bane silvered slingstones, you can take out that lich in no time.

Here's another idea: chuck holy water. Carry around several dozen vials. Again, your tricked out archer can throw stuff pretty darn well.

Chances are, your tricked out archer doesn't suck so bad in melee. Carry a heavy flail for those undead emergencies. A silvered undead bane heavy flail, that is.

Plan B doesn't have to be as good as Plan A. But it's a whole lot better than Plan —.

Blunt weapons aren't universally effective against the Undead in 3e. In the PC adaptations, I used to load myself to the gills with blunt when I expected to fight undead only to be hassled by zombies with DR 5/slashing.

The Quick Draw feat is a wise investment.
