First Post
I got a copy of the Tome of Battle in the mail yesterday and I have to say on the first read thought my initial impression is that the book seems somewhat unorganized or perhaps counter intuitive in its layout would be a better way of saying it. I was thinking that building a few characters might help me wrap my noodle around these mechanics, although, it looks to be painfully slow. Any other ideas, hints, suggestions or general advice on how to approach it? Anything to watch out for or any particularly important errata I should want to know about right off the bat?

Looks useful, but I just tried it and nothing happened- it wouldn't let me filter, change search parameters, or reorganize the list in a non-alphabetical way. I did see the whole list, though.

Hm, you don't have the base 2nd level domain script-blocked, by any chance? Not assuming you do/would. But that would certainly do it.

I was just saying the same thing to one of our players who plays a Warblade from this book. I made an npc fighter using maneuvers from this book for the first time and they have the rules mixed all around throughout the book.

It literally took me an hour just to figure out why a fighter can't pick any level of maneuver. I knew you couldn't, but I couldn't find the explanation to determine what levels he can pick. After an hour I finally found the initiator explanation text. :\

Yeah, the book could use some reorganization, and also a technical edit to fix the maneuvers which have wonky mechanics or bad prereqs.

It feels rushed.

But with 4e announced, I think I see why. :) They wanted to see the kind of reception ToB got.

Cheers, -- N

What kind of reception did it get?

If I recall, the reception was very, very mixed. The extremes of best thing ever and worst thing ever about equally represented.

It seems strange to me that they would go ahead with it with such a mixed reaction
