Boats for 25mm tabletop

I'm probably going to be buying the LEMAX HALLOWEEN SPOOKY TOWN HAUNTED GALLEON for this purpose. It's just too cool. It moves. It sings. It's just nifty. And it will probably go on sale once Halloween ends.

If you're willing to put a little effort into it, paperforge.com has a nice, free foldup model of a longboat, complete with instructions for making a MageKnight-type "clickbase" to keep track of damage:

I haven't yet put it together myself yet, but it's definitely on my shortlist (playing in a nautical campaign right now). The finished model should be about 20 inch long, which is a LOT larger than any affordable resin models you're likely to find.

If you'd like something a lot smaller than that, Fitz Farrago has a nice one-page foldup model of a longboat:

Thanks for the tips--it appears that I have quite a few options out there.

On a related note, I'm also looking for miniatures of creatures such as dolphins and sharks. No luck yet; I'm thinking that a toy store might have one of those bins with small plastic sea creatures. However, if anyone knows of any cool miniatures, I'd be interested in checking them out.

Thanks.

I know you specifically mentioned resin or pewter boats, but another possibility is looking into some of the Lego kits. I've seen some pretty impressive Lego ship kits that would probably be pretty closer to the scale you're looking for.

Hmm. Legos. You know, that actually has a LOT of potential to deal with all of the miniature needs in D&D. Build dungeon maps, or even entire dungeons of out Legos. Use Legos for characters and monsters. The possibilities are endless.

I'm sure there are a lot of possible alternatives out on the market, but if anyone is interested in supported the man who fashioned the ENnies' awards from this year (and getting a great bargain) you might want to watch for what our resident artist, potter, and historian is coming up with in his extra-special workshop. I know I am looking forward to his creations with great anticipation! :)
