Book of Fiends-Qlippoth and demon

I all, I'm trying to incorporate the material from the Book of Fiends into my campaign, and I'm wanderring where the qlippoth stand if your using the tanar'ri demons.

Are the qlippoth demons like the tanar'ri or evil outsider like the demons?
In the MM there's no demon subtype, only tanar'ri, and in the BoF they have the demon and qlippoth subtype.

I'm thinking that most of the demons are tanar'ri, monstly those with the sommon ability.

What do you think?

Yeah, the original printing of Armies of the Abyss said qlippoth were a race of demons, the creators of the tanar'ri.

Then "tanar'ri" was officially declared Not Open Content, so the Book of Fiends couldn't use the word. So it just said demons, but "demons" should read "tanar'ri" in most cases.

When d20 products talk about the "demon" subtype, they mean the tanar'ri subtype.
