Book of Hallowed Might II.

Lord Pendragon

First Post
I just noticed that there's a BoHM II out by Malhavoc. Could someone tell me whether there is any material in the book relevant to paladins? Or is it mostly cleric-based? General thoughts on its usefulness to paladins?

Depends on how you define "usefulness to paladins." If you want a paladin of a god who can dual-wield a lightning staff (something Mike Mearls wrote), then sure! There's new spells, PrCs and other cool stuff. The most useful part for me as a DM though was the information on adjudicating signs and portents, as the cover suggests. Guessing that you'd like more paladin spells, I'd say that Book of Hallowed Might I would probably be more useful for its variant paladin classes, oath and vow feats, etc. However, keyed spell items from BoHMII with some paladin spells or cleric or wizard spells might be darned cool too. :)

You can check out BOHM II on the product page here.

BoHM1 was a great book that brought depth and flavour to divine casters so I was really looking forward to the second one. But inbetween the release of the two I bought Complete Book of Eldritch Might (also gobsmackingly awesome) and it occurred to me that the Hallowed Might series would probably end up being compiled in a similar hardbound. So I am holding off purchasing BoHM2 (and any eventual third volume) until I hear sound word either way. I'd much rather have a single, killer hardback Complete Book of Hallowed Might and would rather not lay out more cash on the single volumes. Is there any word on what the plans are in this regard?

We have no plans for a Book of Hallowed Might III or a Complete Book of Hallowed Might at this time. While we'd never say never to either one, considering that we have things planned out, at least tentatively, through the end of 2006, you can judge accordingly.

And as VA said, the most paladin-heavy material comes centered around some cool justice and vengeance related material (a prestige class, a new weapon type, and so on, created with paladins in mind).

Thanks for the prompt feedback, Monte - you are the Diamond Throne's own diamond geezer :) All the way up to 2006 you say, eh? In that case, I would say that you have just sold me a copy of your fine work with your tricksy ways. And probably an updated BoHM1 as well too, you wily dog, you...

Now just make sure you don't go changing your mind on this. If you end up releasing a Complete Hallowed Might I will... I'll... Well, let's face it, I'll buy it, won't I? Yes. Right. That'll show you.
