No worries. I've used it on my first printing PHB, which is the only one that has been falling apart so far.

Mine is OK so far and that book has seen the heaviest use. Maybe because MM are left open for longer periods of time flat on a table.

Either way its not to unreasonable to expect a $50 book to stay together my PHB came from Australia and cost $66 IIRC.

I got stooged with my books falling apart within weeks too. Was a while ago and I lost the reciept.

Are the newer books put together better? Im considering buying another set.

On a related note, I asked Mearls about this issue on Twitter. His responses:

- "we still replace books that are falling apart"
- "we work with the printer to make sure quality is high, report problems we find"

Can you ask him about non US customers? Postage is a bitch may as well buy a new one.

All of my books are close to falling apart - even my copy of SCAG. I'm in the UK and I didn't keep any receipts, oops!

I started up a face to face campaign and all five of my players bought 5e PHBs too, and commented on the poor binding. WotC should really be ashamed of the quality of product they've put out, I'm sure that's been said many times already...

In the UK, you don't need a receipt to get a refund or replacement for faulty goods. However, if more than 6 months have passed since purchase, you do need to be able to demonstrate that the fault was present when you purchased the item (and I have no idea how you would do that).

Most stores offer refund/replace policies that go beyond the legal minimum (such as if you simply change your mind), and these generally do require receipts. But they invariably say something like "your statutory rights are not affected" - they're in addition to the legal minimum, not instead of it.
