Actually, I'm still technically right. You're using the Spring Attack on the partial charge, not the full attack. So what I said still holds true... though as Artoomis pointed out, there are ways to squeeze out a full attack after a Spring Attack.

Note that the only thing the spring attack feat needs in order to trigger is an attack action, so what if you do not or cannot move you still using the feat, unless you do not want it to trigger, that is.

1stly, you could charge past your opponent, there is no rule that says you cannot do that.

2ndly, straight back and forth is still a straight line last time I checked.

I don't have my PH with me, but doesn't the rules for charge say you must take the attack as soon as your are able, you can't simply run as far ahead as you want and then take the attack.

Nope - you MUST move to Spring Attack - of course, since you are avoiding AoO's provoked by YOUR MOVEMENT, nothing else makes sense anyway. To say you are not moving and you are using Spring Attack makes no sense whatsoever.

A charge requires:

1. 10-feet of movement before the attack.
2. Straight-line movement.
3. You must end your charge in the first square in which you threaten your opponent.

For Spring Attack you could then continue your charge movement, because that's what Spring Attack lets you do, per the Sage.

Quite correct. Of course, whether his move after the regular attack must still be in a straight line is arguable, since he is no longer charging. A different topic, I think.

It's not errata - it a "clarification" that the Sage posted in e-mail. He's equated charging with its associated movement as the same as an attack + move for Spring Attack purposes. As I recall, he said you could do it, and noted trhat the movement woudl have to be in a straight line as it was part of a charge.

I don't agree, though, as I've stated. I say no "charge" with Spring Attack.
