BRACERS of Epic Health???

Dragongirl

First Post
I was wondering about this . . . why is the item not an amulet? It is an amulet for non epic version. All the other epic ability bonus items are the same in epic and normal versions. I tried looking for an Epic Level Handbook errata and there does not appear to be one yet.

My guess is because in the DMG table Amulets of Health are listed as Bracers of Health. So, perhaps they went off of the table and not the item description.

Isn't the point moot since almost any item may be made into any location? You could as easily have a belt of constitution...

Well, only if the DM allows you. You might be surprised on the number of DMs who do not allow this sort of options to be taken advantage of.

I'll just chime in with my usual "as long as everybody knows this at the start of the campaign and agrees, its OK". Seems an unnecessary restriction to me, though.

I'm suprised that alot of DM's do not allow it. As a DM, I do it all the time. Magic items can/should be able to be made for any thing. But maybe thats just me.

Allowing the creation of magic items that do the same as another but occupy a different space can be abused. Not much, and not easily, but it can be abused. Me, I allow nonDMG items, but only after the campaign has started (ie, new characters can't start with nonDMG items unless I explicitly give them one).

Hats of Running and Boots of Intelligence are probably stupid. I was just saying that going by the DMG rules you can make any location you want. If the DM does not allow that, it's another house rule, and another forum.
