DAZ3D put Bryce 5.5 on download.com for free! For a limited time you can upgrade to Bryce 6 for $20!

If you've never used Bryce, it's a great landscape generator - very useful for DMs.

Bryce rocks the house. I got it the last time they did this free offer and it's just about the coolest thing I ever got for nothin'. :)

And I am sad, for my computer only has slightly more memory in total than that program apparently takes up by itself. :(

Yes, it's several years old and was only mediocre memory-wise at best when I bought it. I liked Bryce when I tinkered around with it in a Computer Art class in senior high some years ago. But of course, that was on a school computer, and it was an earlier version of Bryce.

About how much memory does it take? The last Bryce I remember using was 3.something, and while I'm flush for memory the CPU is a bit long in the tooth.

122.23 megabytes according to C-Net (if you hold your cursor over the windows icon or whatever for it, a little pop-up bit appears sometimes that shows some stats).

Since getting my new computer I have had to contact Daz to reactivate my Bryce downloads.

The process, from beginning to end, took less than five minutes. I rather like their customer service. :)

The 5.5 version of the program is still available free. Thank you Aeolius.

Bryce-created .dxf files work very nicely with Google Sketchup, too!
