For shows like Buffy, I actually try to not watch the previews. UPN has historically given away too much in their teasers. At least, IMO. Mind you, I only watch Enterprise and Buffy from that channel...

This has been said before, Buffy's death will not activate another slayer. Faith's death will.

Good point. Still, I have to wonder about the Dawn theory.

By the way, I didn't notice until you quoted my post, but where I mention "(either Buffy or Dawn", it should read "(either Buffy or Faith". I corrected it too.

How Giles survives -- he and the Watcher that was killed both seemed to know that Something Was Up; I suspect the Watchers may have noticed that proto-Slayers have been dying. So maybe they were gathering up their charges to get 'em somewhere more secure.

Ergo, I predict that Giles had one or more Watchers and/or proto-Slayers with him, and that they will blindside axeboy just before Giles gets chopped up.

Good prediction. It will also allow the introduction of a new crew member and allow for a character death later in the season.
