Of course if he's facing the same guys that are offing potential Slayers...

Offing potential slayers isn't much mroe difficult than offing anyone else. It's not like they have super powers. They are at best merely well trained humans. And Giles is one of the guys who does the training...

Yeah, I don't think they are killing Giles here. Joss seems to like milking character death a bit too much to kill Giles this far from the Scoobys. He would want them to know right away. Now I want to know what the connection between the Slayer Killers and the thing below is.

Again I wonder where Xander was off to. This makes two shows were we see him all dressed up and off for an important meeting. Something is going on there. :)

Now, all the vamps coming out of the ground at the same time, they were all killed at different times. Maybe it does not matter but makes me wonder if the Evil Below has control over vamps.

Ah, truth as a weapon, why tell a lie when the truth is available.

Can someone explain the whole Giles thing to me? I missed an episode or two this season so I have no idea who his friend was or who the ninja guys were. Thanks.

His friends apear to just be random Watchers, not anyone terribly major in the story arch... the 'ninja' guys are a group of people going around and killing people... so far, it's only be slayers-in-training, this is the first time we have seen them kill Watchers. And that's really all we know about them.

I thought this was a really strong ep. This season has tended to bounce around a bit, and it was good to have an immediate follow to last weeks gripper.

The BB's use of Spike was sensational.

And one of the great lines, "I hate playing in vampire towns..." as the band exits back stage. :D

PS

I forgot, the best part of this episode is there is an episode next week.

If Angel does not start again until January I know I will start new activities and miss the first few episodes. I wish they would start later and run all new episodes until they ran out and then go inot a long rerun season.

Giles isn't dead, or else they would have shown him actually getting killed instead of nearly getting killed. At first it took me a moment to understand what was happening, but it all sank in after the shock of watching Giles get swung at. It was a good way to end the episode. I am anxious to see what happens next. :D

I wouldn't worry about Giles being killed. (ignoring the fact he is scheduled for more shows)

He is a watcher which means he has some training in warfare.
He is actually decent at that sort of thing compared to other watchers.
And of all the watchers he has probably the most combat experience.
Remember he was always fighting Buffy no wonder he looked weak in comparison.

Same can be said with Wesly in Angel started out trained but not experienced. Now he rocks.
