On second thought scrap the eagle claw/beast strike idea as you are a psychic warrior you can use a spiked gauntlet(Yes, it is a weapon.), use your unarmed damage and the enhancements off of the gauntlet. A little less damage but completely viable and frees a feat.

A regular gauntlet is treated as an unarmed strike. A spiked gauntlet is its own weapon, note that it has different damage values than the typical unarmed damage of a creature of that size category.

He chose to have VoP as it is a low resource campaign and it needs to be a weapon in which he can use via power of call weaponry(soulbound alternative feature, Mind's Eye), so regular then.
