Burial Rights for Adventurers

How strange. I've never been in a game where you looted your friends' corpses just as easily as you looted everyone else's.

I have never been in a game where this has brought about hard feelings. If in doing this, you say that the person's new character can only start with first level equipment, then they are in essence punished twice: They have to make a new character AND they get no good equipment.

Oh, I see what you mean. But once the campaign has started it's already been decided that all new characters come into play with normal equipment, so there'll be no double punishments, or punishments at all beside the obvious characters death.

Well, in climbing circles, there is the half-joke "If you die, we split your gear."

But mostly that's because the gear is so specialized, it would be a shame to waste it (not unlike D&D adventuring). And it would be nice to keep something of a friend to remember them by, potentially even saving your own carcass with it.

Cheers,

Don't forget crazy expensive!! My rack is worth almost as much as my car!

The characters defining gear gets burried with them. Most characters have things that their characters love and thats what goes into the ground with them. everythin else gets divy'd up.
