This is some nice stuff.

Thanks! :)

I saw something on the site today that made me think of another concept instead of the alien invasion or natural disaster.

It seems that a company is going to do the classic "And then magic invaded the 20th century." (http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=71504)

I have to admit that if I already owned Urban Arcana this would be a double temptation to use everything but the kitchen sink.

The question is who would be nastier, the berserk dwarf or the beserk Wolverine hybrid.

I forgot to mention another reason why I wanted to set the campiagn on a planet where the human colonists forgot that they came from Earth is that it would open up the suspension of disbliief when I introduce strange critters for encounters (such as dire rats in the sewers). I guess I could do the same by saying the game is in a far future where mankind has now gotten back up to 21 Century tech and the strange critters are just Earth animals 5+million years in the future, but that doesn't seem to lend me enough "believablity" even when you see some of the critters that scientists guess could come up in the future.

On that note, Nova and the Discovery Channel both did shows with those themes, The Future is Wild show still has a website,
http://www.thefutureiswild.com and has some pretty funky creatues on it.

Check it out and steal some ideas.

For another twist: what if they are not really the kids parents? They are actually eco-terrorists who 'liberated' the kids from a reseach facility while still embryos.

I am surprised that quite a few people like this concept. Aleshandre has this cool twist to my Alien Invasion option ....

I love this storyline. I have always been one for twists in the plot. I also love Irony, so having the invading force be humans from Earth, who finally found the "lost colony" who want to either subjegate or reincorporate, but can they be trusted? Are they really who they say they are?
