Buying Online - Not New Wave but... The War Store! - Thanks all!

I'm thinking of buying some mini's from

but I'm always wary of trying a new online vendor without a recommendation.

Anyone have any experience with them, good or bad?

UPDATE/EDIT 06/27/03 : Thanks all for your input. I ordered at http://www.thewarstore.net/ instead, and already got my order today!

I ordered some Iron Kingdom WarMachine minis, some Confrontation mini's, and a few Reaper Mini's. The Confrontation mini's are especially awesome, and will work great for my (eventually) planned "Steamish" campaign ( cuz they have simple guns! )

Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone who helped me avoid making a mistake by going with the wrong retailer. Another reason why I love this community.

For the record, based on this experience, I highly recommend The War Store. They were priced in the middle of the ranges I saw, but they gave me FREE shipping and great service, including emails and quick shipment. I'll use them again for sure.

I just order a couple of mini's and some paints from them. Nothing has arrived yet, so I can't recommend, or revile, them.

I did my order online and one thing that bothered me was when the order was completed and dispatched I got a blank page returned to me. Typically this would have been the page that contained my order number and confirmation information. Needless to say this bothered me a bit, about days later I received an email from New Wave indicating they'd begun processing my order. I still don't have an order number though.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that this whole transaction goes smoothly. They have a pretty good selection and I'd like to stick with them, no hiccups in the process will go a long way in allaying my fears regarding the lack of order numbers.

I'll let ya know how things turn out, hopefully someone else will be able to say great things about them.

BAd here...

I ordered from them years ago and had no problmes until I ordered about 100 bucks worth of minis.... never recieved them.. got the run around from them and by the time they ever answered me it was too late to dispute the charge with my credit card from them... and I never did get my minis....

Do I vouch for them?

Hell No!

They delivered my order in pieces spread out over 6 months, and were unresponsive to anything I sent to them. I think they generally get you your stuff eventually, but you probably won't want it anymore by the time it arrives.

i ordered some dice from them some time ago. took forever to get them. turns out one of them was out of stock. they never bothered to inform me. ithink they still owe me a set. no reccomendation here. nothing to see, keep moving, sir.

It's with regret that I have to join the chorus of people who had problems with New Wave orders. I had many good experiences with them, and then things went downhill. I'm pretty sure they owe me (actually my wife) $30 worth of miniatures, but after six months now we've just given up on them.

No do not order from them. In january I ordered seas of blood from them got an order accepted and waited two weeks before I called them and found out that they never had it in stock and never told me when ordering. So I cancled my order and they still charged the credit card. Argh!
