Buying RPG books from used book stores

For me the motherload was a binder containing the complete Encyclopedia Harnica along with Delta Green & the 2nd Ed Runequest Hardback.

All for about $50.

I tipped the clerk.

A friend and I just hit a used bookstore (C & W Used Bookstore) today. I dropped off some games I wasn't going to use, and picked up a lot of fairly recent Exalted stuff at about half off.

Of course, I also saw my old Babylon Project RPG was still there, which surprised the heck out of me.

Plenty, I try to go to them about once every other month to see what they have. They don't seem to move a lot of stock at the used book stores, especially gaming wise.

Sweet Baby James! I WISH, OH how I WISH there was a used bookstore in my area that sold gaming stuff. We have 4 used bookstores in my town alone, and if you ask about rpg's, they look at you like you've just sprouted wings or something.

Well, the deal is, according to one of the players in my game who is in the military, that a bunch of military folks who play RPGs in my town, spend their money on RPG books.

When they have to go to their next station, leave, etc., they need the extra cash, so end up selling their "extra" RPG books. He also says that many of the military here have no real friends or family so just splurge on books, but end up buying more than they really need or can actually afford. They find out that they have to pay for necessities, like food, and sell the stuff back.
