Has anyone considered using any of the crunch from Dragonmech to run a He-Man game? Reading through it, some of the classes and weapons reminded me of he-man. Well, not he-man, but some of the other characters.

I've never really considered using DragonMech, but any of the times I've toyed with the idea, I've found it would be pretty easy to come up with a MotU themed D&D setting as long as you don't mind it having a touch more of the wave 1 minicomics "Conan" feel and a touch less of the 80's/2002 cartoon's mixed magic and technology feel. (Honestly, if you're going to approach MotU you really need to mix and match the details from the 1980s line and the 2002-2004 line for best effects).
There's a lot you can do with just WotC rules. Skeletor is obviously a lich. Trap-Jaw is a half iron golem. You can make Buzz-Off into the bee race from MM2. (It's a stretch but) Stratos can be an aaracroka.

Of course, the hardest question is always: Is He-Man a fighter/barbarian or a fighter/paladin? Prince Adam would be a straight fighter, probably low to (at most) mid level, something like 5th levelish. The Sword of Power, when evoked, would add probably about ten levels of one or the other on top of what Adam (and if you're into the expanded universe, Adora) normally has. I've been inclined to avoid paladin because even though cartoon He-Man is a goody-goody doofus, he doesn't really lay on hands, turn undead, and summon Battle Cat from an extra-dimensional space. He runs, jumps, throws things, and punches stuff. Maybe the "Whirling Frenzy" variant ability would make more sense, replacing a somewhat out of character rage ability. Then again, if you interpret "rage" as a boost of adrenaline and not some kind of violent frenzy, it makes more sense.

Sorry, I'm kind of a MotU dork :heh:

The sword of coarse would be a powerful artifact that would allow somewhat of a permanent type rage. With it being an artifact it could be pretty uber-powerful.

I briefly ran a campaign that featured an amalgam of stuff from 80s cartoons set on Eternia. For He-Man, I slightly modified the Samurai class from Oriental Adventures, so that the abilities for the ancestral weapon were selected from a list that included powers that would allow one to build He-Man OR Lion-O with the class. :)

You mean something like this: http://www.enworld.org/Pozas/masters.html

Adamok (Adam/He-Man) is a LG ex-barbarian/paladin. His special mount is a celestial dire tiger. If Adamok rages, he loses his paladin powers until he atones (as happened to He-Man in the "He-Man no more!" episode where Adam gives up the sword).
In a MotU-based campaign, I'd day his harness grants him +8 armor bonus, DR 5/magic and 50% immunity to critical hits. The bracers grant +10 Str bonus (yeah, epic stuff). The belt grant him SR 10 + level. The sword is a +5 keen holy shocking burst longsword that can invoke Righteous Might on wielder once per day. Adamok also has a +3 light shield and a +3 throwing battleaxe.

The multitude of items are true to the original He-Man concept, from the minicomics illustrated by argentinian legend Alfredo Alcala (former Conan artist).

Do a search on google for d20 and He-Man, and you will find a really good thread from the wizards website (d20 fantasy think-tank) on just this subject.

He-Man Rocks

I wish they would have been able to finish the encyclopedia comics they put out in 2003. They were only able to finish the first issue.
