When you do 8 liters of Mountain Dew in 12 hours we'll talk
Holy caffinated calories Batman, thats a lot of soda!
Hmm... I wonder if Vampires (read: real undead vampires) get caffeine rushes after draining the blood of someone who just drank caffeine.
I recall hearing that you'd have to eat something along the lines of 10lbs of chocolate to even approach the amount of caffeine in one cup of coffee.
Well, that'd be incorrect. Overstated by about a factor of 10 to 20, actually.
A typical 7oz cup of coffee you get from a drip coffeemaker has between 115 and 175 milligrams of caffeine.
A 1.5 oz bar of Hersey's milk chocolate has about 10 milligrams of caffeine. A 1.5 oz bar of Hershey's Special Dark has about 30 milligrams of caffeine
So, maybe 1.4 pounds of cheap milk chocolate to equal a cup of coffee, and less than half a pound of the dark stuff.
In addition:
12 oz of Coca-Cola - 34 mg of caffeine
12 oz of Mountain Dew - 54.5 mg of caffeine
12 oz of Jolt Cola - 140 mg of caffeine
6 oz black tea - 50 mg of caffeine
So, that can of Mountain Dew is only roughly equivalent to a cup of tea. Mind you, tea also contains chemicals that slow the uptake of the caffeine, so it is a bit more time-release.
