Calgary Gamers! (or Alberta Gamers!) Introduce yourselves!

Dis-located from Edmonton! :)

I'm from Edmonton--I'm just out East for Grad school. I did my Undergrad degree (BSc. Geology, 2000) at the U of A.

I still mourn the loss of The Adventurer's supply. Warp 1 et al just doesn't cover it.

What ages are we talking about for you Edmonton folks?

We are talking about 26 years of age.

On Geology a buddy of mine graduated with a Geo degree in 99 or 2000 I don't recall off the top of my head.

Small world....

I'm 33 and from Edmonton, too. I miss The Hobbit, that cool store that used to be downtown in the basement of some mall complex.

Warp One bites, except for the very cute Oriental girl working there...

Lived in Alberta for the nine years, scettered about here and there. Born in Edson, but didn't stay there. Edmonton for a year, left and came back for another, left once more and came back for another two. Then moved up to Fairview, Alberta for five years. Now In Jakarta, Indonesa--though I'll be back in Canada late next year.

Haven't been to Calgary as much as I might like. All I can remember with clarity is a hotel with a water slide and Callaway Park. But it had clean air, and that's all I look for in a city lately.

Hope I count ;).

Awe shucks, you thought of little ol' me. :o lol. Yes I do live in Calgary. :)

Hehe. I remember participating in other threads and noting your location and thinking how rare it is that there are others in Calgary. I guess it's not as rare as I had thought though. :)

So do any of you participate in the RPGA events the local chapter runs? Or are you home-game kinda people?

32 here. I've never heard of the Adventurer's supply. Whereabouts was it located, and when did it close down?

It was in the West End. On 95th ave, about 156th street. I don't remember when it closed down, but it was between '92 and '94 I think.

When I was a youngin' (~junior high circa 90-93), it was my main RPG source. I got my first ever RPG stuff there--dice (I still have the first set I ever bought, although the blue d10 is missing/stolen, minis (Ral Partha almost exclusively), 2E core books and splatbooks, Rifts, FASA Star Trek, Battletech, Judge's guild, paints, etc.

Still the best RPG store I've ever been to, although some of that could be nostalgia.
