Campaigns in the near future?

I like this idea a lot. It starts of a passing joke of sorts, then just a campaign world oddity, and suddenly BAM zombie apocalypse. ;-)

We've just recently started the Savage Tide AP, so I assume that will keep us going until well into the year. (We're on the 2nd installment -- see sig below).

I imagine after that I will try out EN Publishing's AP or go back and do Age of Worms.

This year is going to be a busy one for my crew. We will be finishing up Red Hand of Doom. Then we will be starting Savage Tide in our weekly game. Then I will be starting a Bi-weekly FR campaign with some homebrewed adventures in Waterdeep then onto the Banewarrens, City of the Spider Queen, and then more homebrew stuff involving The Rage of Dragons. Good times!

What campaigns are you looking forward to playing in, or running, in 2007? Even if that happens to be a continuation of a particular one from this year say, or even a resurrected one from eariler.

Again, just curious. :)
In 2007, we'll be resuming our Praemal Tales, i.e. Ptolus Campaign.

I'm itching for some change by playing some sort of Modern or Cyberpunk game though. The Resident Evil d20 adaptations we've been talking about here just got me thinking about it. I'd like to run some Shadowrun maybe. I actually never ran this game before, but played it for a while. I just got the Fourth Edition and I like the mechanics.

On the D&D side, I'd like to run an archetypal Dungeon Crawling campaign with a huge dungeon with all the good old feel of First Edition. Temple of Elemental Evil or Rappan Athuk with Bard's Gate, something like that.

I'd really like to run Cthulhu too. The Masks of Nyarlathotep. Again.

And some Mongoose RuneQuest.

And... okay. I'll stop here.

Just wishes of course. The only thing sure is the Praemal Tales which will go on.

I don't know if I'll be able to start a new Greyhawk game or not, so far we are playing the Fantasy Trip and that may be the game my group plays for a while.

Woah! The Fantasy Trip: That's older than old school! Good times!

January 2007 sees the end of our Shackled City campaign, and the start of Age of Worms. I've been dying to run AoW for ages now, with SC coming to an end heres my chance.

I also have plans on starting a Dr Who game, though I need to decide on the system to use.

In the new year, my Midwood campaign more properly becomes a mix of Midwood (good guys) and Freeport (fugitives), which should really allow both groups to shine, as well as letting me play in two styles I really enjoy. I'm looking forward to throwing every dragon-related WotC supplement at my group (Dragon Magic gets a workout next adventure and Draconomicon and Races of the Dragon will also contribute a lot of material before it's done) and also Ptolusizing the Freeport Trilogy and moving the Cthulu mythos stuff into being more explicitly the Galchutt and the Cult of Chaos.

After that, I just want to get to be a player in a game that doesn't peter out just as it gets going.

Seeing as Christmas time is a crummy time for us to game (hard time getting together) I don't foresee another game until early next year. That said, the group is prepping from the Great Games in the City of Greyhawk. One party member is searching for a legacy item (conveniently located in the True Tomb of Icosiol!).

After the games, I'm planning on opening up the campaign a bit more, since by then they should be around 10th level. I'm planning on dropping in some plane hopping, a certain Rod-that-was-broken-into-seven-parts, and a (hopefully) climactic battle with a Demon Prince.

Hopefully, this campaign keeps going strong!

After this... who knows, maybe another shot at an Eberron campaign, Iron Kingdoms, D20 Modern/Cthulhu or... Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. Nah... that'd never happen ;)

Next year I'm hoping that my three Greyhawk campaigns continue (and possibly pick up a little speed and happen a little more regularly). I'll also be looking at using pre-written modules more than before.

The main campaign has the PCs averaging around 10th or 11th level and only last night I gave the players the option of putting this particular arc on hold and kick-starting a new arc with 1st level characters. All the players were pretty keen to keep the current arc running. I'll be using some adventures of my own devising here but also hope to get these guys into a few higher level Dungeon Crawl Classics that I'll string together.

So, early next year I'd like to restart one of the other Greyhawk campaigns with 1st level characters so I can run them through the Shackled City or perhaps Scourge of the Howling Horde and Red Hand of Doom.

I'd also like to start Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil late next year.

I'll be starting a new campaign set in West End Games "Fires of Amatsumara" setting (basically their version of Firefly when they were unable to get the Firefly license). I have no idea what the PCs are actually going to be doing in the campaign yet, as at the moment I'm feeling somewhat short of ideas. But hopefully things will work out :)
