Doesn't anyone remember the Leader? The only person that gamma radiation made smart instead of brawny?

He could work if you want something other than a slugfest.

I loved the leader-with that pencil moustache LOL.

I remember he fought Rhino quite a few times.

Hulk and the Fantastic Four go way back, Hulk/Thing had some big blow outs in the 60's and(or) 70's, back when he would go on crazy rampages.

Peter David changed the Leader's looks and made him a lot more ruthless. He would have killed the Hulk if it hadn't been for Jarella.

Let's see there is:

Traditional Green Hulk: Stupid, raging monster.

Grey Hulk: Average human level intelligence. Smaller than the green hulk and weaker.

Intelligent Green Hulk: At one point all of Banner's personas (Banner, Green and Grey Hulk) were all mereged together. He was taller, stronger and more intelligent than ever.

I think that about covers it. From what I can remember.

Peter David's run on the Hulk was my favorite time in the Hulks history. So many different stories were told during that time period. Not sure exactly how long it was that he wrote, but I know it was a long time.

The Grey Hulk was also more cunning than other Hulks, despite his average intelligence. While savage Hulk was child-like and merged Hulk was civilized, Grey Hulk was just plain mean. He was the Hulk with an attitude.

Not being as strong and tough as the green Hulks, he had one heck of a healing factor. When the grey Hulk fought Wolverine, Wolvie was actually able to cut him bad (he could never cut the green Hulk). I think he cut his heart out. Then, minutes later, Hulk gets back up, madder than ever...

If I remember the reasoning on that... Why the Grey Hulk was able to heal from that... It was something about the Hulk basically being composed of cancerous cells or something like that. It's been a long time since I read that. :)

Also for a while the Grey Hulk was hooked up the Mob as an Enforcer named Joe Fix-It.

I can't believe no one mention Doc Samson! He got blasted with a dose of gamma radiation and, while super strong and having green hair, his skin stayed pink and he retained his near-genius level intelligence. He had some nasty run ins with e Hulk (I remember one of the best ones was during John Byrne's brief run on the Hulk issues 311-318 I think). Doc would rarely be able to beat the Hulk but could usually get him to calm down.

Also weren't Hammer and Anvil repoccuring villians of Hulk's past. They got killed by Scourge in an issue of Marvel Fanfare (man this is going back about 15 years) but had this wierd chain that contected to their wrists. It gave them super strength and they managed to hold off the Hulk a few times.

I remember Hulk also fighting Captain Mar-Vell and the Silver Surfer on a few occasions.
