Can disguise self hide wings?

I notice that a few demons/devils etc. have disguise self as a spell like ability. Can it make a abashai devil appear human?

No. It only changes basic features. For example you could make that devil of yours look like an angel. Basically same dimensions and with wings too. But you couldn't remove the wings with Disguise Self, so you couldn't make him look like a normal human. A human with wings perhaps, but that looks like an angel again...

To look different? ;)

The only demons/devils that really need to pass as humans are succubi/erinyes, who posses the polymorph ability to achieve this.

To look like something different, so your players don't look at it and suddenly know it's stats and capabilities? To vary your opponents theatrically, instead of mechanically? To be truely, inhumanly scarey? Because "All the others Devils are doing it, why can't I?!" Because you asked "Why the hell can a Devil do X" and puns hurt my soul (good job, by the way *smirk*). Because I said so? XYZZY?

Well, if I were the epitome of evil, I'd find it quite useful to be able to make myself look exactly like my worst enemy. Demons looking like angels are bound to fool a carefree party of adventurers, don't you think?

But what if you had wings like Angel back in old school x-men where he had feathered wings, could you use disguise self to hide your wings under a trendy sportcoat and make it look like you had broad shoulders?

See, I don't buy this. If they need to look different, then they need to look different.

Regardless, disguise self just doesn't seem useful enough to bother with.

But hey, at least the Osyluth (? what is going to disguise itself as?) has a Disquise skill.

In anycase, I'd argue they could do a Disguise Skill check (with the +10 bonus from the spell) to 'hide' their wings.

Or in this case a heavy cloak? *smirk* Well, I would certainly give the devil a chance at trying it out. The main trouble with this is that the wings on most of the devils, demons and angels are so big that they would stick out fairly easily.

OOC: I always thought that the x-man Angel had incredibly flexible wings that even shrunk about 20 - 30 % whenever you put clothing on top of them. O' well...
