Can Scrollworks have some of your money?

Scrollworks 32 is Ready to Roll!

This issue leads off with the usual On Point commentary. There's an interview with James West of Random Order Comics and Games. "For Kenneth" is an in-depth look at the ins and outs of publishing a zine similar to Scrollworks. Next, there's a longish D&D article detailing a ready-to-use keep. It's my twisted homage to "The Keep on the Borderlands." I review several zines, as well as the excellent book, Holes. Finally, I share a recent geocaching experience. There's something for everyone!
32 pages; digest format; $3.50 ppd.

Scrollworks (ISSN 1541-7778) is a print publication that supports role-playing games (D&D mostly), zines, small press comics, and other items of personal interest. It arrives in your mailbox as a welcome relief from ridiculous credit card offers and cruddy junk mail. Check it out at www.scrollworkspress.com!

Oh, break down and sell it as a PDF already... :)

James

NEVAR! No one can take my long arm stapler and paper cutter away from me unless they are pried from my cold, dead fingers.

This is my long arm stapler,
This is my gun.

This one's for zine making,
And this one's for fun.

While I think Christian would make more money if it was a PDF.... not to meantion it would make it easier to reuse OGC... I enjoy getting a small printed zine. The feel of paper in my grubby little hands is a great joy. And I can enthusiatically tear open the envelope it was mailed in.

Heh. Like I've been telling people: "Each issue comes with a FREE cancelled stamp, two staples (slightly bent), and a used envelope! What a bargain!"

I tell ya, folks - Dragon does not give you that kind of love.

If any publisher ever wants to use any of my OGC, hit me up in the "e," and I'll send you the article as a .doc or .txt. I don't mind kicking down a little somethin' somethin' as long as it's not a book length project. ;) The maps and illlos, however, are mine all mine. Bwahahahaha.

Hey Chris I just ordered the lastest Scrollworks and Weirdness Magnet 1. I noticed that after I processed the PayPal that nothing was included in the charge for shipping charges. Is shipping included into the price of the issue?

I look foward to reading the issue.

Hey, thanks!

Yeah, the cover price includes the stamp. I always forget to mention that. I should, because the zine looks like even more of a bargain that way.

I hope you like Weirdness Magnet. There's some good stories in there, like how D&D literally saved my life. I'll be sure to toss some "goodies" into your envelope.

I agree with getting an actual mag... nothing has quite the feel as real paper...

Hiya Dave!

Aw, you fellows at Dark Quest are on my good side. Nice fellows, you and Neal. I've been taking over more of the writing duties for Scrollworks lately. I'm pleased with the results so far for a number of reasons.

For one, I need the practice. I thin I got so busy being Mr. Editor, that I stopped writing altogether. I'm also saving myself a lot of time and effort by limiting contributions. Each freelance assignments generate a flurry of e-mail and added work, things I just don't have the time for. Finally, and most important of all, I am able to tighten the focus of the issues. One of the criticisms of the zine is that the issues lack focus. It's kind of funny to accuse a ZINE of lacking focus, but what are ya gonna do?

I appreciate the offer of material, but I've even limited the number of art contributors down to three fellows.

Talk to you soon,
Christian

PS: That Britney quote is funny!
