Can summoned creatures carry me?

Ascending Crane

If a construct has wings (or a summoned creature has wings) can it carry the summoner? What is the strength necessary to carry a normal sized person...?

Is a construct (Psionic manifestation) any different than a summoned creature in this regard?

Being summoned doesn't prevent a creature from doing anything it could normally do, though you have to be able to communicate what you want if that's anything other than "fight."

Look up the creature's carrying capacity based on its strength and size. That's how much it can carry.

Why not? If he can understand your language, you can tell him to do something else than fighting.

Just take a look at the strength/carrying load table in the PHB (Adventuring chapter) to see how easy it is for him to carry a human. I think there can be a specific section on mounts capabilities in the same chapter IIRC.

For a medium size flyer to carry 250 lb in flight (assuming gear added in there as well) it would have to have a strength score of 25. For a large size flyer, it would only need a strength score of 20, huge a strength of 16. That is based off the creatures light load: what it can carry and still fly.

I have a question about computing the Carrying Capacity of Critters.

For example: a Huge Critter with a 37 Str. Max Heavy Load is 1040lbs x4 (Huge Size) x 4 (Tremendous Str in the 30's) = 16,640 lbs.

The Modifier for having 4 Legs seems to be x2 where does it fit into the Math? At the end for another Doubling = 33,280 Lbs? or In with the Size Modifier making it a x5 = 20,800 Lbs?

The real advantage of Astral Constructs: they have no CON Score. ie no Endurance Checks, they can run forever or Drag realy Freeking Heavy Ojects without Tireing .
