can this strategy be stopped?

Not sure if it was mentioned, but apparently you also have to expend your psionic focus to extend a power. If he wants to do it again, he's going to have to spend an action (or a move equiv if he's got the right feat) to regain his focus.

I'll 2nd what Eric says!!! He can't manifest an extended power again in succession as he will have lost his focus! End of problem - sorted, wheel out the tanks to sort him out while he's looking into ways to regain his focus on the quick!

Personally - I'd be tempted to say the psionic powers manifested with a meta psionic feat take a full round action! That would seem to be following the spirit of magic/psionic transparency - though I can think of several who might be upset with such a suggestion!

But like EricNoah also said, the feat Psionic Meditation allows a psion to regain focus by giving up his move action for the round. So during the second round, when the psion is manifesting whatever offensive power he chooses, all he has to do is stay still and he will automatically get focused.

Duration: 1 round

"Your body ignores all harmful (and helpful) effects, beginning when you finish manifesting this power and ending at the end of your next turn. While timeless body is in effect, you are invulnerable to all attacks and powers.

This power cannot be quickened."

The part about "ending at the end of your next turn" is the important one here.

This is DM dependent, similar to the Heat Metal spell.

The text of the power/spell assumes that it is not extended, but does not indicate that it cannot be extended or what happens if it is extended. So, each DM rules his own way. Some state that it cannot be extended, some state that you can extended it but the extended rounds mean nothing (i.e. nothing happens on them) and other DMs extrapolate a reasonable effect during the extended rounds.

Hang on, what level is Timeless Body? Is it level 9? Can 9th level powers be metapsi'ed outside of epic levels?

Timeless body costs 17 PP. Extend costs an additional 2. This is under the 20 per round that he can manifest.

Has anyone run the numbers on the cost-efficiency of keeping this up? I'd imagine it gets absurdly pricey after several rounds of combat. If you're the DM, all you have to do is what you do whenever a Psion gets overpowered - throw in 8 or more combats per day for a while as part of a story arc. ;)
