Can you help me name an adventuring group?

The Dragon's Cleansing Breath

I like that, though I'd make it even simpler than : "The Cleansing Breath" is less of a mouthful and still gets the point across.

Plus, generally, when you announce yourself with a possessive in the title, it weakens your position a little. i.e. which is more meaningful to you and demands more respect You get a knock on the door from "The President" or when you get a knock on the door from "The President's aide"

(that's just how I see it, there is, of course, no real 'right' answer)

Check my blog for 100 Mercenary Company names (you can roll one up). Might have to go back about a week or so.

Also, check the Toolbox or Ultimate Toolbox for more ideas, if you want.

So I'm thinking I'll maybe go with Order of the Cleansing Scales. It sounds pretty cool, but does that reference even make sense?

It's easy to get the "scales" reference once you already know it's dragon-related. However, without that foreknowledge, the word scales just makes me think of "scales of justice" type and law-related stuff.

Plus dragon scales are protection (and one method of dragon identification), not offense - there is nothing wrong with that, just keep in mind that is the angle that such a name would carry.

The Order of Wyrms, or the Order of Wörms.

It's a play on words. Wyrms is for dragon and Wörms is for both dragons or serpent, as well as the worms that feed upon and consume the flesh of the dead.

The God Squad (We're on a mission from...)

The D-Team (If a dragon has a problem, if no-one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... the D-Team.)

A few more (you could always use some to name "chapters" in your campaign)

The cleansing breath of life. OR Life's cleansing breath.

Balancing the Scales of Life and Death

Fearsome Bringers of Peace

The Weary Bringers of Rest

The Order of Light and Life

The Sanctifying Claw

Wings of Faith and Fury

Tail Slap of GOODNESS!

(maybe not that last one) ;)

I can't claim I came up with it, but... Order of the Sundered Scale.

It's kind of backwards, also... as the original Order of the Sundered Scale was still all paladins and clerics, but they were dedicated to hunting down evil dragons, not undead.

Sounds mighty cool though...
