Pathfinder 1E Can you ready a five foot step?

Okay, I think my post got dropped somehow. I'll try again.

I don't play Pathfinder, so I'm not that familiar with the rules.

Having said that, take this for what it's worth: In 3.5 you can Ready an Action, and take the prepared action immediately *before* the triggering action goes off. It can be any kind of action, other than "full round". It can be Free, Standard, Move, Swift, etc.

Five-foot-step is described as "not an action". I don't think you can prepare "not an action", only actions.

I'd go lookthat up if I were involved, as either player or DM.

The pathfinder rules specifically say you can take a 5 foot step as part of a readied action.
