Can you Really kill someone?

Killing someone...

Killing someone is very difficult durring higher level campaining.
If the PC's have access to True Rez, or wish, or mericle or any other mumbo jumbo that can raise a char, there is still a time limit of when he can be rezd. it all depends on the level of the cleric, but spells like desecrate can greatly lessen the chances of a character being brought back.

Another option is to animate him as undead. perform some ritual that turns him into a ghost, where he will be tormented and also proves to be a signiture of someones true power to take down a king or great char.

The last thing i could think of would be to have some demon feast on his soul, a trap soul spell, or something like that. maybe the assassin is forced to give the corpse of the character to some powerful entitie that will destroy the soul forever.

You know, my players would freak if they saw me reading a thread like this. It's bad enough they think I'm out to get them and call me "killer DM" and "B.A."

Yet... There have been only THREE deaths in this campaign! Two of which were due to a confusion spell where they HACKED EACH OTHER! :D

Okay how about killing him and raising him until he is level 1 then draining Con to a Permanent 1 and then Casting Polymorph any Object on him to turn him into a rock or hammer or whatever.

he is still technically alive but helpless. Then take him to the Abyss and cast a Rope Trick spell, find a way to make it permanent and put him in it. Toss the rope up there with him.
You can be seen in a Rope Trick space nor can someone scry on him while he is in there.

I dunno.

Comment on Time Plane True Death

Liked the idea of dumping the pour soul's body on a plane with an extremely accelerated frame of time (to get the body aged 200+ years). But couldn't this process be reversed by placing the husk on a plane where time is accelerated (extremely fast) backwards?

Problem for the rescuers I suppose would be finding the precise moment when one could snatch the king's body (now "un-aged") from the reverse-time plane without missing the crucial moment. The king's body might come back as an infant, or worse, he was "never born." How's that for a permanent fix. One can't resurrect/reincarnate something that never lived. Perhaps all memory/knowledge of the king would be wiped out as well.

Of course if the king was elven, "never born" could mean that he is meerly a drop of Correlan's blood, part of the diety him/her(?)self. Just hope the blood isn't integrated Correlan's being, or you've got a greater diety/head of a pantheon breathing down your neck for trying to tinker with the laws of nature/multiverse. Now you've got a problem! :p

Not a definitive solution, but can buy you some time: disintegrate the body and leave a ransom note (signed by, maybe, your worst enemy :p)
