The cT recommendation (Book 2, p. 21) for deck plans was 1.5m per square on graph paper and 3m between decks. Two squares is thus about 1 (displacement) ton. They also said to give yourself some lee-way and pointed out that some stateroom tonnage should go towards common areas.
