Can't stack roll/score bonuses from feats ?

Sidebar on 4e PHB, page 275
"Bonuses: There’s one important rule for bonuses: Don’t add together bonuses of the same type to the same roll or score."
Also, same sidebar. The different bonus categories are enumerated and "feat bonuses" is listed as one.

Does that mean:
1) If you are a dwarf paladin doing a holy strike, which is radiant damage and you have the following feats:
Astral Fire Benefit: You gain a +1 feat bonus to damage rolls when you use a power that has the fire or radiant keyword.
Dwarven Weapon Training Benefit: You gain proficiency and a +2 feat bonus to damage rolls with axes and hammers.

Your damage modifier is +2, not +3, because they are both feat bonuses ?

Seems wrong, one is a bonus to radiant damage the other to melee damage. But as I read the rules, that's the way it seems to be.

Also, the power attack feat is useless to a dwarf with dwarven weapon training...It is +2 to damage regardless of taking a -2 to hit or not(unless the dwarf is not using an axe or hammer).

Also, don't take powerful charge if you have dwarven weapon training.

Also, don't take weapon focus combined with anything that increases damage...astral fire, powerful charge, dwarven weapon training....the list goes on.

Is the above really intended or have I missed or misread a rule somewhere ? Disappointed, but trying to understand.

I did a search under all the FEAT category posts and didn't find anything. Sorry, if this topic has already been discussed.

Yes, on the general, but no on the specific.

Feat bonuses do not stack so your Dwarf Paladin will only get a +2 bonus to damage when he Holy Strikes with an Axe. But both Power Attack and Powerful Charge provide an untyped bonus, not a feat bonus so they will stack with Dwarven Weapon Training.

Power attack bonus creeps up to +3 with a two hander at heroic tier

then at paragon its -2 for +4 (one handed) +6 (for two handed)
at epic -2 for +6 (one handed) +9 for two handed

But otherwise your right feat bonus's don't stack, something to be very careful of when people get armor specialization and try to stack the AC bonus with the shield specialization feat's AC bonus.

In all honesty though I think the dwarven weapon proficiency should stack with the radiant damage one as long as the attack is doing both normal weapon damage as well as fire/radiant damage as the same bonus isn't being added, ones, feat unamed damage and the other is feat fire/radiant damage. however if the attack fully does radiant damage it should only get the highest applicable bonus.

So if you do one attack, but had to separatly roll for axe/hammer damage and radiant/fire damage that are 2 rolls so you would get +2 on the axe/hammer and the radiant/fire an +1.

But if you have an axe or hammer, that deals 1 roll of radiant or fire damage, it would be +2.. for it is one roll and doesnt stack..

You missed that not all feats provide a feat bonus. Some feats, such as power attack, give untyped bonuses. Untyped bonuses stack with all other bonuses, so read feats carefully to see what does and doesn't work together.

Power attack is not a FEAT bonus, it is an untyped Bonus. Most feats that are situational are untyped Bonuses. Power attack will stack with anything except itself (you can not take -4 to attack for +4 damage).

I did have to redesign my Dwarf Ranger because I missed this rule. I am taking Dwarven Weapon Training until level 21, where I will switch it out for Weapon Focus: Axe (+2 to a +3)

Also, Two Weapon Fighting (+1 to main hand damage) is an untyped bonus that will stack with Weapon Focus (the situation being you have to wield two weapons), and Power Attack.
