Castles and Crusades (NDA is lifted - ask questions, get answers)

Sure. I don't think that invalidates my claim. As long as there is a plausible SKILL-related explanation for the action, then add the PC's level. But if we're just picking up boulders here, then no way!

That aside, I compliment you heartily on the cover art that I have seen gideon! It looks great.

Thats both the pitfals and the benefits of having as open ended a system as Castles and Crusades. There are as many ways to interpret how something is done in the game as there will be people playing it. But thats ok. We aren't trying to peddle the 'one true way' here. :)

However. The support group of the C&C Society (a freebie fan base contact group) is there for that, as well as many other, reasons. The Crusader magazine also can help clarify many a rules issue, or even yabber about it on these message boards. Its all good. :)

Thanks for the commentary on the art. Hopefully most will like what they see. :)

Firmer release dates for C&C material were recently posted to the Trolls' website . . . Dion

We have some solid release and ship dates for you. [. . .] Castles and Crusades digest boxed set will begin shipping around Sept. 6. This will be the printed version. [. . .] The C&C Players Handbook should be out about [mid-October]. And the Crusader should ship around Sept. 10.

Ship Dates

Hallo all,

I've only managed to recover from Gencon just now, and still need a few more weeks to rest....lol

I have some firmer dates for shipping on the boxed set and the core rule books.

Due to MASSIVE typo problem we've reprinted the PHB for the box set. The 'ass' check was just too much for me. lol So, with the box itself arriving on the seventh of Sept, and the reprinted PHB on the 10, we'll begin shipping them out on the following monday. If we can manage the 10th, we'll start then.

But within a week or so they should be airborne and in your direction.

We are taking a little more time with the PHB hardback, but it should be on my desk by the 15th or a date blessedly near that. Then off to the printer. So it will be early-mid October before it hits shelves. I'll keep you posted.

We still haven't decided if we want to go with full matte covers. I set a coke down on my 1st ed PHB about a month ago and left a big ring of bubbled cover on it, so that foil wrap coating does seem to have advantages.

WHAT? You reprinted the books because of a typo that would have increased the old school charm? :\
And decreased the collectability of the post-GenCon boxed set?
What got into you, seriously? :uhoh:

But just think Melan. There were only 100 made of the GenCon set. And I think there are some left. *smiles*

There will still be 300 signed and numbered ones being sent out.

Old school typo's are one thing, but there are times that such can be a tad excessive. I suspect that there will be the odd typo still though. So its not all bad.

Monsters will not have full stats (no attributes listed) but we're still a bit in the dark on what the full stat block will look like.

How can there be no stats, when the stats are so important to the game? They are basing saves and skills, off stats that I know about, probably more.

Er...just to clarify, since I ordered one of the 300 signed and numbered boxed sets, does that mean I am getting one with all the typos, or a "corrected" version. If the former, will you include (either in the box set or on your web page) a list of erratta for those typos?

The 300 signed and numbered sets will have the 'corrected' version in it.
