Catching the Cachalot (small spoilers)

Bruize

First Post
So Unit 27 finished the ambush at sea last night. It was quite a drawn out fight. I decided to give them a hybrid of the Sea Mare and the closest steam powered :):):):) from AotHS. The ship had a front facing turret so I allowed them to use it for minion clearing.

When Glaz came out, the marines put the smack down on the PCs, letting them know who the real enemies were. The party's wizard turned druid (long story) used forced movement and more or less deprived Glaz of a turn and also knocked him on his rear on the surface of the ocean (yay ice aura).

I decided to have Glaz cut and run 2 rounds before I thought he really needed to. Good thing too. He made it to the hatch in time but the PCs prevented him from closing it. So, I decided to scare them. I had Glaz use his ice aura to plug the hatch for a round and order the sub to submerge. The PC's martial scientist fired an explosive round at the ice barrier and use martial scientist power to let it ricochet and hit the hatch lid. I allowed it, saying it was too damaged to prevent water from getting in if submerged. A few rounds later, Glaz sees he's getting nowhere and knows he can't keep it up indefinately (the PCs were holdind their breaths and holding to the sub....crazy people) so Glaz surrenders.

The PCs are now towing the Cachalot to Danor, used a sending to contact Delft to tell him there are boats to be recovered, full of prisoners (if they survive). The Warlord is using a martial ritual to repair the hatch and the PCs intend to upgrade asap.

So...yeah.
