D&D 5E Categories of Magic

Well I see Druids are divine but the power is filtered through nature so much that it's something else.
Like chocolate milk.

Same with Nature and Primal. Magic from a Eagle spirit isn'tthe same as magic filter through nature from Meilikiki, Eldath, Malar, and Silvanus.
I dunno, there are so many non-religious druidic sects, the divine aspect is barely even present in the class since it quit being a bolton for umm 2e(?) cleric The Druids of both eberron & darksun are not especially religious, the druids of FR & greyhawk are practically indistinguishable.

That's why I said it's more filtered though nature. I see Nature's divinity as a separate thing. Separate form Divine and Primal but related to it.

Druids are pulling magic up from Nature and not down from deities. Now how Nature gets its magic is the question. But Nature itself has power that you don't need specefic god worship to tap into.

This allows for druid is non-diety worlds and nonreligious druids.

IMO the gods of nature have nature clerics. Druids don’t worship gods, in my campaigns, or if they do they aren’t priests of them in any sense.
Or, the gods of nature are primal spirits who guide and teach, and do not grant spells.

Ah, so nature itself, the world itself, is divine. That makes sense.

So how is Eagles Splendour gained from a Eagle Spirit fundamentally different than Eagle Splendour gained from the Sky God? In both I’m invoking powers to enhance myself just one is divine and the other ?

I’ve divided the 361 spells in the PHB into at least 67 mystic traditions which each use their own unique cipher for writing scrolls. The spellcasting classes each partake in some of these traditions but not in others. Some traditions are unique to only one class, while others are known by many.

I do similar but tend to use things like the greatpine oalian & greatwenge Weald. Millennias old awakened trees that may have been awakened by the black dragon Vvaraak are certain to be better repositories of knowledge than some demon overlord claiming to be a god of nature too 🌲

@CleverNickName I think that a psionic type that doesn't dual type it's powers like I suggested for magic would go back to the rules hazzard you had with psionics in past editions. There's nothing wrong with a Wizard's fireball being elemental, arcane while a mystic is elemental, psionic

@Tonguez one is arcane, primal & the other is nature, primal? Alternatively enhance ability would only be on one list & some other thematically appropriate version with different mechanics would be on the other list if such a thing were needed. Admittedly I'm not sure that I've ever seen someone cast enhance ability in 5e & run both a private weekly game as well as an AL weekly game. I'm sure someone does but it's a pretty bad spell in 5e & being sorcerer specific makes it near untenable as a deliberate choice for a known spell

Magic: using arcane arts to manipulate naturally occurring elements and forces. This includes psionics.

Invocation: petitioning a patron, or using powers granted to you by a patron, to change reality.

Martial Arts: drawing on inner reserves and physical training to stretch past mortal limitations.
