Catfolk or Goatfolk - which would make a better "charger"

Yep. Do not allow that feat!

It only works when the opponent is flatfooted! I've played ranged rogues alot. Getting a foe flatfooted without already being in his face is HARD past round 1. I know there's stuff like the wand of grease and all, but most of those involve a set up time. I have no problem letting someone pounce once every two rounds, if that's all he's doing and the enemy's too stupid to just get into melee with him.

Been awhile since I did this trick, but aren't people flatfooted against you when you're invisible? That's pretty easy with a wizzie friend, or a scroll and decent UMD.

I was under the impresiion that with regular invisibility, they'd no longer be flat footed after the first attack, as that instantly ends the effect? Certainly, you wouldn't let a rogue get the rest of his sneak attacks on a full attack w/ invisibility, would you? And, once again, if using UMD, there's 2 rounds for one pounce. Really not so bad.

You haven't played with me, then. I have a character who's main purpose is to make people flat-footed or denied their Dex bonus. Everything from Grease and Freezing Fog to 4 different ways to grapple you. The party's Rogue, unfortunately, was a coward and a whinger, so most of the opportunities would have been wasted if not for the party tank going "full Power Attack!!!!"

There's a huge difference between flat footed and merely denied their dex bonus tho. Catfolk pounce specifically only works on flat-footed opponents, and there are very few things that will make you flat footed once you've had your first turn in the initiative order. Invisibility and grappling aren't among these, and grease only causes you to be flatfooted if you move around in it (There's no balance check unless you move; hence you are not balancing and are not flat footed).

I was talking about sneak attacks specifically, since we are talking about Catfolk rogue abusing the pounce feat.

Flatfooted is easy. I grease the guy, your Catfolk pounce sneak attack it. Then the rest of the party take their shots at the flatfooted mook.

If I grapple you using any of the 4 ways to do so, you don't need pounce. Just walk up to him and stab away.

That's not flat-footed, that's losing your dex bonus.

This really does only work once per combat - luckily, you can charge in the surprise round.
