CB's Grim Frequencies IC -- COMPLETE

COMBAT ROUND 1

Initiative:
Death Otter 26
Cyril 25
Thrall 17
J.R. 14
T-dawg 12
Feral 5

OOC: Everyone is up.

The bathroom is forty feet away from the center of the kitchen where the kitchen table is. J.R. reaches the bathroom and may act on Round 1. Death Otter, Cyril, and T-dawg will need to use their movement before they can reach the bathroom this round. Feral is, of course, already at the bathroom, and is standing in the open doorway. It's double movement to pass through Feral's square. The bathroom itself is sizeable (it's a semi-public bathroom in a church)--20' square. The thrall is in the northeastern corner, 15' away from the doorway (the doorway is on the southwestern corner of the bathroom). Sinks and a turbo hand dryer occupy the western wall. A line of four toilet stalls rests against the east wall. A diaper changing station folds down from its position on the north wall.

OOC: No one asked, but I was refreshing my memory and thought to share the following. In case it comes up, HERE is the d20 SRD reference for initiative, flat-footed, and attacks of opportunity. Feral has Uncanny Dodge, so while he is flat-footed, he retains his Dexterity bonus to AC (unless immobilized, which his is presently not). He may not, however, make an attack of opportunity while flat-footed. Also, everyone is considered flat-footed during Round 1 until the start of their turn comes up on init.

A concerned look crossed Cyril's face. Oh great, I hope the junkie didn't die in there, he thought to himself.

Considering tucking the pistol into his waistband before recalling several frivolous lawsuits about accidental firearms discharges to the groin, the man simply moved toward the bathroom with gun in hand. "What's going on?" he asked to no one in particular.

Death Otter trotted just ahead of Cyril, and for once she looked pretty serious. She'd seen some of Feral in action in prison, and for all her smirking mockery she had some idea that Li was fairly hardcore. Hearing that girlish scream come out of that gruff figure chilled her. Otter had some idea that only something that completely blew past all of Li's psychological defenses would ever evoke that sound. And Feral was a giant ball of psychological defenses; a veritable Hellraiser puzzle cube of neuroses.

She didn't say a word as she got close to the door and paused with her back to the wall, her pistol heavy and slightly slick in her hand. Just a peek around the edge, just to see what was happening. Then she'd know if shooting was the right thing to do, or running.

(Moving to door, then will look around the edge to see what's going on in there when she can)

Feral is standing in the doorway. A character could squeeze past him but it would cost double movement to do so. When DO peeks around the corner she sees what I described up above; "Esmeralda" is held in thrall and is partially subsumed within a large rubbery tentacled creature that clings to the ceiling/corner of the bathroom.

J.R. is behind Feral in no time at all, staring into the bathroom mouth slightly open, gun still at his side.

"What the fu-"

He snaps to, raises his gun, and opens fire.

(OOC :: Alrighty, first time using a firearm, so... How do I roll for this?)
