CB's Grim Frequencies IC -- COMPLETE

Feral has only enough presence of mind to drop to the floor and scramble out of the way, backward, never taking his eyes off...it. Whatever composure, machismo, bravado, or false confidence Feral ever had is all gone in this moment, replaced by a five year old's fear of the monster under the bed.

[sblock=Feral]Also a nice post for Feral. I don't know that a woman's first and immediate reaction would be to scream, but your post made me laugh out loud for a good solid couple of minutes, and I appreciate how you wove Feral's transgender status into such a spartan post. Feral has +1 Action Point to add to his character sheet as a boon for a great post.[/sblock]

Feral dropped to his knees and scrabbled backward out of the open doorframe. By the end of his movement, he'd barreled past T-dawg and Otter, and was fifteen feet into the hallway, well away from the door to the bathroom.

OOC: ROUND 2. Everyone is up, please post at will and I will resolve in initiative order.

OOC: I wasn't sure if I was going to see the thing last round. Since it attacked me, I figure I definitely see it now...

Cyril simply stood stock-still, only his oddly quick reflexes allowed him to casually dodge the creature's tentacle.

"What..." he said, stopping in mid-sentence. "How..."

As his mind fully grasped what he was seeing, a wet stain appeared on the front of his pajama bottoms, seeping down the left leg. Mouth agape, Cyril attempted to form words, but nothing came out. Finally, his mind simply broke and he moved to run away. "WHAT THE F&^% IS THAT THING?!?"

OOC: I can't remember if there is a Withdraw action, but Cyril's taking it if there is. Moving away from the creature as quickly as possible.

OOC: There is a withdraw action. A character may move up to twice his movement and withdraw without incurring an attack of opportunity so long as all the character does is withdraw that round. There is also Total Defense, which is a full-round action and grants +4 to AC for either the round or until the start of your next turn, I forget which.

"What the...", T-dawg looks stunned by the sudden appearance of... well of whatever it is... his face screwed up with a mixture of shock and disgust. He stands there for a moment... seems like longer, but must have only been a heartbeat or two.

Then seeing his friends and Esmerelda in trouble, his protective instincts kick in and look of steel crosses his face. He surges towards the thing, blocking it's access to the others with his bulky frame. He plunges his meaty arms into the writhing mess of tentacles, grabbing hold of Esmerelda and trying to drag her out of it's clutches. Strangely his voice is calm as he chides the... thing, "Oh no you don't, you evil octopus mother****er.".

OOC: Free action to activate Action Surge ability, move to close with the thrall, and then action to attempt to grab Esmerelda (I assume it's a grapple against the thrall?). That will provoke at least one AoO, more if it has Combat Reflexes (either for moving in it's threatened area and/or for initiating the grapple - man I miss not having an improved grapple feat!). Here is the grapple attempt:
Touch attack: [roll0] (Action Point if required: [roll1])
Grapple check: [roll2] (Action Point if required: [roll3])
