CB's Grim Frequencies IC -- COMPLETE

Round 5, concluded

Initiative:
Otter 26
Cyril 25
Thrall 17
J.R. 14
T-dawg 12
Feral 5

J.R. kicked open the toilet stall door and levied his Glock against the thrall. He fired off a shot, hitting the creature squarely on its body, and dealing a full 9 points of damage. The bullet went straight through the thrall and exited into the bowl, cracking the porcelain. Water began pouring out the back of the base, all over the floor. The thrall again went into a frenzy of tentacles, some of which began to extend and grasp at J.R. and T-dawg.

T-dawg tried to grab hold of the thrall, but it was far too slippery with its own blood oozing out the bullet hole and the water from the toilet.

Feral bent over and checked Esmeralda for signs of life. She had a pulse, but it was rapid and fluttery. Feral noted that some of the pitted places on her skin were smoking and looked larger than they had moments earlier--more flesh was exposed.

OOC: End of Round 5, start of Round 6. Everyone is up, please post at will.

Cyril tip-toed into the bathroom, sliding and squelching around to get a look at the stall. Amidst the spray of water, he spotted the tentacled alien trying to escape down the toilet. Absolutely terrified of the thought of never using a toilet again, he thought to himself, please just sit there and let JR shoot you dead, please. He thought it really hard.

OOC: No idea how many Hit Dice it has, but Cyril is going to move to within 30' of the creature and instinctively try to Daze the thing. So you don't have to search for it, it's a DC 14 Will Save, the power is Compulsion and Mind-Affecting. If the thrall has more than 5HD (probably) or is bigger than Medium (not anymore) it is unaffected. If it is susceptible and fails the save, it cannot move or take actions for one round. It still defends itself as normal, however, so no reduction to AC. The displays are Mental and Material.

I wish you could use Action Points as INaction points, using them to deduct from opponent's rolls. I think some 3.5 classes could do that, the luck based ones.

OOC: My stats for the thrall are at home, so even though I'm excited about Cyril's attempt to daze the thing, I'll wait until I get home so I can post accurately re: its Will save. Thanks for providing the DC; I always appreciate when players provide numerical data pertaining to their characters. Enables me to get updates up a heck of a lot faster.

Re: Action Points, I've been thinking of them more as Inspiration a la 5e. Perhaps a little broader even than Inspiration. While not RAW, it fits the cinematic edge I intend for their use. So go ahead and ask for them to be used in alternate ways. If I think a player is asking for too much, I'll decline.

Marks stepped forward and, hands shaking, ministered to the girl. "What am I, chopped liver? Couple years of med school right here." He touched a finger to the oozing sore on Esmeralda's chest, then wiped his hand on his jeans. He looked up at Feral. "Go to the kitchen. Get a box of baking soda. Biggest one you can find." He started dragging Esmeralda down the hallway, out of the doorway.

OOC: In that case, I'll be asking for fate's cruel hand to turn against the tentacle alien thing and apply a negative modifier of [roll0] to its save. If that's a no-go, just let me know. APs are D6s, right?

OOC: APs are d6s, yes. We'll try what you request, if I think after a few times using it that it's a bit overpowered, I'll speak up. Admittedly, 1d6 worth of imposition of a foe's abilities is pretty uber. I'm willing to tinker.

OOC: APs only recover on level-up, right? 1d6 could be a lot, could be a little. I don't have stock in the idea, so it doesn't bother me if we keep it or not. I'm mainly suggesting it to help keep some of Cyril's abilities relevant. I guess I could take the Heighten Power metapsionic feat later to account for that.
