OOC: Does Batman have a weapon (perhaps natural). I had expected a counter AoO on the grapple. This is another source of debate, though, whether a creature with a natural weapon provokes an AoO on grapple attempts (with improved grab). I'm of the opinion they do. If Batman has no weapon, then ignore this.

I believe Batman can bite, so I agree that a counter AoO exists if Goliath does not have/use improved grab or the Improved Grapple feat. The counter AoO is created because Goliath has to enter Batman's square during his AoO.

Goliath misses. (Rolled 10)

Batman withdraws to 95N110E10Z, flying west to first get out of Goliath's threat range, then dropping down at double speed, then turning and flying east.

Goliath flaps in a tight circle, ending up just above Batman to the south at 90N105E15Z, heading east, and tries to claw again.

Goliath, being an earth creature, swipes air (rolled 9), forgetting his opponent is actually Batman.

Batman emits a piercing shriek. Goliath, taken by surprise, takes 5 points of sonic damage and is paralyzed (rolled 7 Fort save), falling for an additional 6 points of damage. Goliath has 14 HP remaining. Batman flies down to 90N105E5Z.

Round 481

Batman strikes Goliath carefully with the flame in his palm for 16 points of damage. No flame returns. Goliath dies (rolled 16 Fort save).

Batman is at 90N105E5Z with 54 HP.

First in round 482 for Chaotic Evil is an abyssal eviscerator (Miniatures Handbook). Gansk, we all need an E-mail for this one.

A seven foot tall purplish mass of limbs and armor plated muscle enters the arena. It stands on a pair of wiry legs, hunched from the sheer weight of a pair of massive arms and a gigantic head split by a huge, tooth-encrusted mouth. Sprouting from its belly is a second pair of taloned arms, which are as spindly as its main arms are muscular.

Ahnald runs to 90N100E.

Ahnald is disappointed he didn't get an AoO. He moves to 90N110E and stares up at Batman.

Batman pulls out his bag, reaches in, and tosses the fuzzy ball to 95N110E, where it turns into something and attacks Ahnald after given the command, "Attack!".
