I haven't watched a lot of different streams with many different performers (only 3-4 different games). But I can say that most of them are good at "acting." Which is fine, but that's only one aspect of what makes a good role-player.
I personally wouldn't want my game compared to Critical Role. Just not my style. I'd rather do my own thing well than do Matt Mercer's thing not as good as he does.

I've seen a celebrity (Steve Jackson, the American one) falling over laughing at a game I was playing in. With good reason: it was the first-ever playtest of Phil Masters' The Skool Rools. I reckoned that was all the validation I needed.
