Celestial Lords - how should we do them?

What method should we use to create our celestial lords?

this is a continuation of the celestial lords thread.
we have a few options as to how we can stat these beings out. the first two i think of, to make them similar to their fiend lord counterparts, is to make them like beings already presented. the two books i have where such beings are featured are the Book of Vile Darkness, and the Tome of Horrors. using one of these books, or another method altogether, we can stat out our celestial lords. post further ideas below.

When you say "Like in the BoVD", do you mean a writeup with goals, followers, cults, etc?

Also, how many templates do we have for those entities? The ones of the Serge, and my Planar Ruler come to mind. Are there others?

I voted (naturally) for a template and then a design altogether different from those in either the BoVD or the ToH. I would advocate a DvR 0 for most of them, while the equivalents of the Lords of Evil would have Virtual Divine Ranks.

I'm already in the planning stages for my version of Arch-Celestials with five different Templates. Two will be similar to Aasimon in concept; they will not be ethically specific (i.e., any good Celestial could use the templates). The final three will be alignment specific (seven for LG, four for NG, and no set number for CG).

For those of you who've seen my stuff for The Gates of Hell and the Horrors of The Abyss, think much of the same but for the good guys.

Apologies to those who love doing complicated god-building, but one of the changes I'd like to see in 4e is a deity monster class, rather than multiple layers of player classes stacked on other monster classes.

Voted (For BOVD). But that seems like an awful amount of detail; I'm sure a brief summary and stats would be more then sufficent in any case.

Obviously I disagree. ;)
Imho, gods and planar rulers are more like NPCs and should be built in similar ways. This of course includes class levels. :)

To each his own. Since deities are more apocrypha than canon, I suppose anyone could make up a homebrew system to simplify deity classification & design, or forget the stats and just make gods untouchable.
