Celestial vermin - Int 3 or not?

With that reach and Dex, I'm thinkin' Combat Reflexes looks good. After all, the CHM Centipede is really only good for crowd control...there are better options for up-front melee combat. At least two others.

Ideas?
Ooo! Combat Reflexes is a good one. I went with Ability Focus for the Poison DC and Weapon Focus(Bite) to help actually land some hits. For the last I ended up going with Improved Natural Armor for a little more survivability, but it's likely to get wasted pretty fast (even with the DR 5/magic, thank you) that doing a bit more damage before it goes poof with Combat Reflexes may be a better choice.

Thanks! Ask Cole later about how it went, but I don't know which direction they're headed tonight, so I don't know if this beast will make an appearance tonight or 2-3 sessions later. Please check with me first, Nail! ;)

Right. My theory is: +1 AC isn't going to make much of a difference, given it's low AC (16). Dunno,...you'll have to tell me if it is worth it.

Of course. What module is this? Forge of Fury???

BTW, why not try the Fiendish Ape? More damage per round!

..

This line from the SRD under Celestial Creatures seems to imply they don't retroactively gain feats:

"A celestial creature uses all the base creatures and abilities except as noted here. Do not recalculate the creature's HD, BAB, saves, or skill points if its type changes."

It doesn't say anything about them gaining new feats in the Celestial Creature entry.

Right. I saw that, too. I agree there is nothing explicit allowing them to retroactively gain feats; I just feel that since they lose their mindlessness from their Vermin Traits, they should get something in return for getting some Intelligence. An appropriate number of feats according to their HD seems a fair trade to me. I haven't found anything specifically allowing or disallowing the feats in the rules, but it sits well with me so I'm running with it until we get or find something more definitive.

Thanks.
