Ceramic DM Secret Double Death Match of Doom! (help find Speaker & Nooneofcosequence)

I have sent out E-mails, here is hoping we get the interest. :)

IF we don't, do one of you math-planning types know how to run maybe a double elimination or somehting with 5-6 people? That kind of planning is not 'my thing'. :)

EDIT: Seems that e-mails to Speaker and Nooneofconsequence are bouncing. If you know how to contact either of these folks can you let them know we are looking for them?

Thanks!

Maybe you could give those that hold more than one Ceramic DM title a bye round?

I think Speaker holds two or three, and he is one we cannot find! :)

We can figure all this out, that or keep hacking away until we have 8 active winners. :)

Sorry--I've been out of touch for over a week. Haven't even checked my email yet, so I wouldn't have gotten any notes you might have sent.

Time is very awkward for me just now.

I'm pretty sure I can't come up with the time to write three rounds. I know, I know, if I wrote shorter stories, it wouldn't take me every single minute of all 72 hours to do one of these. But I can't, and I do. If you set a word limit on me, I will blow it.

I tell you what though, if you want to do this as a single round everybody writes to the same pictures kind of thing, I'm in. Or uh, something like that . . . 3 sets of 72 hours are not going to happen. 1 set of 72 hours I might manage, with plenty of warning and a weekend involved.

And some lubricant for this keyboard . . . it smoked a lot last time.

I'm sure alsih20 would be happy to space out the rounds a lot, Sialia, if you pitched it to him as a 'slow torture' kind of thing.

Hmm. Yeah, let's say we can only advance to the next round after Piratecat puts up a fresh post in his storyhour. Each time.

That way at least his fans won't kill us for distracting him from it so soon after the last go.

Ha ha. Are we sure we want to move that slowly?

I'd like to blame my "didn't post this morning like I expected to" on having to shovel the driveway twice and drive through a foot of snow to pick up friends at the airport, but who am I kidding? It's really because I'm battling alien parasites for the safety of all mankind.

Go me.

But someone else can say that after I post.

I'm happy with either a fun "everyone write a story on the same set of pictures," or a more traditional elimination round -- even one that's spread out.

If we have six contestants instead of eight, it might be fun to break it up into two contests of three people each for the first round (lord help us if there's a three-way tie!) and then a two person final round.

Advancing against two?

Wow. I like that idea as much as I am afraid of it :) But I wouldn't do more than three stories up against each other, because otherwise a three-way tie might be too likely.

Hi all.

I got Clay's message and thought I would reply here. I love the idea of an all-winner match-up, but I'm not sure if I'll have the time to do it. I haven't been on since Oct. 27th because my second son was born on Oct. 24th (and I was on then to tell everyone about it). Having two kids and rejoining the workforce after an unwanted break has left me with very little time for anything else (including just surfing around ENWorld).

That said, I'd still like to give it a try, especially if we space it out a little more like Sialia requested. My vote is for February, because work will have slacked off a little by then.

Let me know what you all think and I'll come back and check this thread from time to time. Also, I was the winner of the first two Ceramic DMs and I think Speaker also won two times... Wherefore art thou, Speaker!?!?
