Jokes aside, I wouldn't recommend anyone publish any RPG product, on any topic, without a sensitivity consultant.

All kidding aside, I bet one is called out on every product WotC wants to associate itself with going forward. Content independent.
Oh, I get why they did the "sensitivity" part. But the person was listed as "cultural and sensitivity consultant." It was the addition of the "cultural" part that threw me a little, though I suppose that's probably a standard title just to cover all bases.

Sorry if I opened a can of worms, though.

Yeah you can find her on LinkedIn it's just part of her title I think.

I wonder what qualifies one to be a sensitivity reader and what guarantees they can provide. Do they specialize? How do you find the one that is steeped in demonology? Or ethnic issues of 12th century Prussia? or whatever?

As an indie game publisher, hiring a sensitivity reader is similar to hiring an editor or layout artist. Something often skipped, understandably, due to the expense and "I can just do it myself", but . . . can take a mediocre product and elevate it to a superior one. And, can help avoid landmines . . .

It's an added expense, but if you care about the quality and want to expand your audience . . . do it.
I disagree with your idea that not hiring a sensitivity consultant means you don't care about quality. That seems rather elitist to me.
